Well as our U21 team thump teams like France, our senior side are also churning out impressive results.

I know it was a draw and there was nothing on this game, but all i have to say is, well done Wales.
We've taken alot of abuse from English fans lately about being a "digrace" to the home nations, but we all know the future is bright for Wales.

Bring on the World cup 2010 qualifiers.

PS - Gutted England :)

The idiots who are suggesting that Toshack should go are dinosaurs, they want up an attem football with a big centre forward and hoof the ball as hard as you can.
The present Welsh teams under Tosh and Flynn are passing the ball and keeping possession instead of defending for their lives. These youngsters have been taught properly and hopefully Wales will benefit from it. Toshack has managed some of the best sides in Spain, and he has been asked to go back for a second time so he must do something right.
The people who want him out have the same mentality as Savage, a player who would be out of his depth with these classy youngsters

England fails to reach either a European or World Cup final in 50 years with 15+ different managers. The managers are not the problem it's the English/British way of developing and playing soccer.

In John Toshack we have a priceless asset, a player who had the benefit of learning from a series of international coaches and players of how to play a better way. The basis of all competitive games is the defence and yesterday was a wonderful example of how a team can be organised and keep possession.

This team is very young and they have yet to acquire the arrogance of the older players, consequently they are still willing to learn from a master. I wonder if the missing 'senior' players are learning a bit of humility? Only one point was scored yesterday but if the same attitude and commitment had been there in the games against Cyprus etc we could have had a chance of qualifying.

During the next campaign will we start from this high plateau or will Toshack again be let down by his players? The tragedy is that these young players will now be sent back to their English/British coaches who will again demand that they stop all of this 'fancy continental nonsense' and just boot the ball up the field and run like hell after it. If that method has been good enough for the last 50 years surely it must be good enough for the next 50?

Will all those Welsh supporters who follow the English school of football methods please leave the stadium.

doctormacca you are presumably English so accusing another country of arrogance is pretty hypocritical. This forum is enjoying one bright spot in an otherwise abysmal season... you want the 'I'm English and bitter and want to make myself feel better by slagging off another country' thread.

Oh and I'm usually the last person to defend Craig Bellemy but I'm pretty sure he was cleared of that assault. You should check your facts before embarrassing youself

Well done Wales. I thought we'd have 6 put on us, and the German thought the'd have a goal feast.(remember Klose's comments). Tosh may be arrogant, but he knows his stuff. Stay with the plan Tosh and in 2010 we'll be there at last.

Looking at England last night, I think Toshack is going down the right road with a very young and inexperienced squad. Yes, there will be the odd painful lesson along the way, but I like the way he's getting performances out of these youngsters.

England couldn't keep the ball and their movement is awful. At least Toshack is trying to improve our technical ability. Possession is 9/10 of the law in international football!

Hmm, didn't Anton Ferdinand get charged with affray? Lee Bowyer? Jonathan Woodgate? It's scum like you that cause people like us to despise you. Don't bother trying to turn a rare happy moment in Welsh football into a moment for you to vent because you sacked your mediocre manager and your crappy overpaid players have been taught a lesson in teamwork. I am so happy for Croatia, you all thought you were safe following Israel's win against Russia.

If anyone is arrogant, it's England. Mark Lawrenson wrote in Tuesday's paper that England were 'guaranteed now to secure their place in Euro 2008'. I find it amazing really - you had likely the easiest group of them all, and yet still you screwed it up, largely down to your own arrogance. Sound familiar? I can't believe you signed up on 606 simply for a snipe at the Welsh. You stuck-up racist piece of crap. I hope to God you pull the group Scotland got in the World Cup qualies - how you're going to get the top seeding they deserve ahead of you I will never understand - but I definitely can't wait to see the egg on your face when you have to pay another manager compensation for sacking him, come November 2009.

Excellent result on Wednesday and a good performance as well. I am still not convinced that Toshack is the right man to take Wales forward, but he has probably done just about enough this campaign. I still think that Wales have slightly underachieved in the group and there have been some terrible performances. There have also, however, been some good performances and we need to build on these and produce these kind of performances on a more consistent basis in the next qualifying group. I feel what we really need in the next campaign is an early win against one of the top nations (like the Italy win under Mark Hughes) that will give the campaign a great kick start and give the players the belief that they can compete at that level. Here's hoping to a kind draw in Durban.

Credit where crdit is due- the jury is now re- convening about Toshack in my mind- a good couple of results after a mini disaster against Cyprus and San Marino and i can genuinely see the progress of our youngsters! Da Iawn boys- as Ratcliffe said- take a bow boys- you deserve it- lets all get behind the team for the next qualifiers- including you Savage!

Ps- we will leave the doctor to stew over his comments and woek out where he would like to go for his summer holidays next year- i heard Joe Cole has some brochures for Clacton-on-Sea, but then again he may use them for himself!

Thankfully this is the result that insure Tosh stays on for the world cup qualifers. There have been some good signs under his reign. Like any welsh manager in the past he has suffered embarassing defeats, the key as been getting rid of the old guard and letting the youngster have their chance. In many of toshs games the average age as been around 21 so you bound to get a few poor performances. They will be far tougher mentally and physically after this campaign and it reminds me of Wales just before Hughes took us on that run. All we need is one big performance and result to kick off the tosh era.

With the result and performence in Frankfurt and the under twenty one's result the night before I am a little excited about the future of Welsh Football. We need to support both sides at the next games. Could we now support Tosh and Brian Flynn, and ask Mr Savage to shut up. We need a favourable draw in South Africa on Sunday to advance Welsh football.
