Spain's Finest Gooner (U7666936) posted Nov 19, 2007 Surely after their disappointing loss to Macedonia they would want to win for their fans. Hopefully Eduardo and Kranjar can score and become the new most hated players. At least it would get them fame in England.

FearlessCelticfan (U9549638) posted Nov 20, 2007 Croatia will go all out for the win, I've been saying it all week though, the team who scores first will win... That means England will need to keep Croatia out because what are the chances we'll score against a solid Croatia side who only made their first loss on Saturday to Ex-Yugoslav rivals F.Y.R. Macedonia?

kontra925 (U10443016) posted Nov 20, 2007 Croatia would want a win to improve their FIFA rankings for the WC draw coming up which now takes the rankings into account. This team has been together for a while - unlike the makeshift English squad. If the English aren't too confused with their new roles for the game they should get a draw. Another point: Bilic is looking to move to BPL, as well as star midfielder Luka Modric (linked to Chelsea and Arsenal), so this game is sort of an test for the both of them... so don't look for Croatia to role over just because they're already qualified

Fineupstander (U9776487) posted Nov 20, 2007 I can't actually recall a "handshake" game in this country. I know that Fergie has put out a weakened team after he's won the league and given some troubled rival a chance - West Ham last year springs to mind and Jim Smith's Derby a few years ago. But that's different. It's still a squad team and they do try. Croatia have nothing to win but by the same rule they can play without fear so I expect a competitive game. England's greater desire should prevail but Mac may just lose his bottle and put out a defensive side. That's really in his make up. I think they have to go for it.
