giganticWinnie (U6690978) posted Nov 20, 2007 I hope he will stay. You could see on Saturday he was gutted probably more than anyone else. He has got a game tonight. I think we will know either tomorrow or next Monday after world cup draw. If he gets the dodgy Italians again I wouldn't blame him for chucking it.

Yes, he has made a few decisions which have raised an eyebrow or two, but lets not forget he is on a learning curve and will be all the better for this experience. We all know we want a Scottish manager, (we do not need a repeat of Bertie), and look at the style of football Eck is getting the team to play allied to the usual virtues of pride and work rate. He has got to stay - he is the best man for the job.

oritebuddy (U9582863) posted Nov 20, 2007 I am confident McLeish will stay for the world cup 2010 campaign. He is a proud Scot and would love to achieve success with the squad. Plus, he is receiving praise for the first time in a while and the Scotland job does not bring as much pressure as club management.

sleezergeezer (U10034362) posted Nov 22, 2007 I'd like us to keep him if we can but chances are we'll have another (smith, souness, jeffries, davies, collins, mcghee - take your pick) at the helm come start of 2010 qualification. McLeish has instilled a pride once again in playing for the dark blue shirt. Some have accused his tactics as being limited but are perhaps glossing over our still threadworn talent and stretched squad. We have rode our luck at times (fair to say now) but a belief of sorts remains fermenting. Add to that the resumption of long defunct production line of young potential emergence and its ot wi' the ginger tammies again next year. Pot two suits our new found steel/swagger but it's way too early to claim passage to RSA in 2010 - lets await the draw, eh? - but we can at least go froward with a modicum of confidence, definitely absent in near years.

SweatyMcSporran (U9883130) posted Nov 24, 2007 We need continuity and he's there. This is a young squad - and by the way a young manager. Obviously he can inspire the boys, we saw that the other saturday - he made them believe they could beat the world champions !!! And they nearly did at that !

jonathanz2 (U2448468) posted Nov 26, 2007 I want McLeish to stay till the World Cup. IF he goes, it shows all his patriotic talk when he landed the job was of naught. It will also suggest that only people who are looking for a filler between "real jobs" will apply. If he stays and does the job well, guess who may be retiring in 3 years. His mentor, Sir Alex. Nice timing.

tartancov (U10516163) posted Nov 27, 2007 Why is the international job no longer the main job. What in gods name is the attraction with Birmingham. How many turned up to there game at the weekend. No disrespect but birmingham are never going to set the premership alight are they. IMO he will be downgrading
