How long will it take the BBC to realise that to be three times World Champion is an amazing achievement, especially coming from an island with a 35 mile per hour speed limit! Andy Priaulx has worked extremely hard for his success and deserves the glory now.

"Also, why does the BTCC never recieve any coverage on bbc.co.uk."

Simple Jon,they'd sooner you watched paint dry with programmes that cost virtually zero to produce such as darts and snooker.

Just to clear it up it's Priaulx. Yes I know we should all know how to spell his surname but we don't read it enough!

And no BTCC coverage on bbc.co.uk because ITV stole it off them.

I'm so pleased for him! This guy started racing in the British Hill Climb Championship. He is one of the true greats. He must be nominated for the SPOTY Award.

My top 3 for the sporting personality of the year are:

1. Joe Calzaghe
2. Andy Priaulx
3. Lewis Hamilton.

It would be a travesty for British sporting heroes and proven multiple world champions if Hamilton won the SPOTY this year. He has had an amazing debut season, but come on, let's have best boxer Britain has ever produced recognised, he deserves it.

We said the same thing last year and will probably be saying the same again next year when he wins the title for the fifth time straight (including European).
One gets the impression the BBC, like many huge organisations, pay lip service to public feedback then go on their own sweet way.
Andy would get better coverage if he was another Jimmy White/Eddie the Eagle/Tim Henman. Perennial losers.
I can't wait for the Sports Personality. Andy wasn't even invited one year, let alone feted, despite being World Champ. Hamilton's clearly a great driver but only in Britain would he attain god-like status before winning the title.

Andy won't get SPOY, I would be very surprised if he got a mention in the 30 second round up that Suzi Perry does on the show for motorsport. SPOY is basically a back slap for those sports people that the BEEB support. They will have to include Hamilton because no one expected his success.

Guarantee that Toseland won't get much of a mention either.

BBC report motor sport don't be daft!Spend time having TV camera's showing pictures of aircraft stood doing nothing for an hour or brain washed political commentators waveing their arms & hands about in front of No 10 in the middle of the night, thats why they dont mention WTCC or other classes of motor sport, no funds left.

Andy Priaulx gets my vote, anyway! I also rate Dario Franchitti and James Toseland as top motor sport achievers for 2007 so let's hope the BBC will give them a reward for their talent and please us for once!
