TIME TO BACK STEVIE MAC

Euro 2008 England

as a middlesbrough fan i remember the times i wanted McClaren out and the bad times and the negative football. truthful thing is he is arguably our clubs most successful manager.
I dont know how hes done it but he is constantly managing to answer the critics of him. 4-0 defeat at home to villa the fan threw the season ticket. 1 week later we convincingly beat the champions 3-0. Carling Cup Success, The Super Uefa Cup, Highest Ever League Position

ANYWAY Enough about he league manager record. Yesterday ENGLAND were on the brink of elimination. Now we are a 2-0 or 3 GOAL win away from topping the group. who would have guessed that yesterday? People say McClaren is a "LUCKY" Manager. Maybe he is who knows? 1 Thing is for certain. we are a positive result away from Austria/Switzerland. A Tournement in which we've got a very good chance of success. A tournament in which we still have our so called 'GOLDEN GENERATION'. Lets get behind McClaren and the boys and hopefully come July 2008 we'll be European Champions for the 1st time in Our History :D

It has always been time to back England, but I'm afraid McLaren is a mediocrity - whether we sneak through or not. He was a mediocre Premiership manager and he's the same for England. The recent improvements came in spite of him rather than because of him - injuries forced him to make changes that he should have made ages before - Barry in for Lampard, Crouch up front etc. Its just a shame England would have to lose for us to get rid of him. If only we could have one without the other!

Who should replace McClaren then , certainly don't think Assistants shouldn't get the job if the the manager fails as if the faults are that obvious he should see them.

I don't believe that any international football team can be underestimated in this kind of competition and certainly, England will not be underestimating Croatia! Having said that, I hope that England show their true potential and win this crucial game by two or three clear goals. Playing for a draw is not an option!

Can we take that all our so called top sports writers will resign ??, if England make it to the finals on weds, as they are the people who started the hate Mc campain even befor he had managed a game.

But remember Wengers reporter JG always says every game about Arsenal, England are playing with ten reserves?.
That covers it all wat.
And If they win well I told you so wat.

For starters am no from England; am from way way in Africa so I expect this comment to come back with a heavy bag of critism. Isreal surely saved Stevie Mac's job. Lets face the facts. No manager likes to lose and not make it to a major championship. We have to face the fact that over time football has taken a new twist. There's no such things as under dogs. Italy sneaked through the back door of World Cup 06'; then went on to win it after a pathetic number of games in the qualifier. So did Brazil in 02'. They had to call back Romario for crying out loud. So, it's just a fact that anything can happen is football, ask Gus. The Russians were confident they would bag thre points down in Tel Aviv... The media and fans are the same everywhere, even in my country. They's this hype thats so depressing. What do I think? The players, England staff given time will do wonders with that team; just a matter of time. I have a strong feeling about Euro 08'; England will do very well and I'll surely wave the St. George's flag with you lot regardless of geographical barrier. This is not the time to lose hope in the team, nor dwell on what happen in WC so and so and EURO what not - the team needs it's fans. Will you be among the number?
