hope not tho. *reposted*

Remember how teams play when they have the mentality of "A DRAW WILL DO"

they are the most perenial losers of all time.

So if England do not look to WIN against croatia we might be a bit doomed still.

But if we go to WIN and draw who cares, but i DO NOT want to hear all the stories and things b4 the match saying a draw will do, WAIT TILL AFTER FULL TIME, then it will do, not before the match.

i hope McClaren understands this and the players too. and maybe some fans aswell.

PLAY TO WIN. agree!? And i dont mean all out attack and forget to defend, I mean, Play all round great football for once!

why do people suggest teams with players who are injured, ie I've noticed a couple with Hargreaves in the team and another had Rooney and Owen up front, wake up! Anyway England will win 3 - 0 with Crouch scoring a couple and Gerrard scoring the other,( yes i am a liverpool fan ), bring on Euro 2008

Personally i think Crouch isn't up for it. Crouchs dribbling abiltily is pretty average and no suited to a lone striker. Owen or Rooney or Bent or Ashton would suit preety well

Also y r we playin a 4-5-1? any1 explain!?

Quite honestly, whats the point of qualifying if we're only going to be substandard when we get there anyway?

England should rightly be competing to win these competitions. That takes true passion. It's the managers responsibility to imbue his team with passion. So I say, fire Mclaren, before he does any more damage, whether we win or lose to Croatia, ESPECIALLY fire him if we win! so we at least have a chance in Austria / Swiss and don't just go limp like a damp squid.

Also, ban rooney from any future line up, till he calms down a bit he's just a liabilty

you do realise if england win by 2 clear goals we top the group so how is that poor form?..
also crouch is a good dribbler of the ball and his record at international level speaks for itself, crouch is the man!!!!

Well its poor cos in this poor group if we lose were not even in the competition isnt it.

i do hope we see some passion tonite, wana see players dying just to reach a no hope ball, never giving up and playing as a team!

i duno wer this passionate team talk could come from, hopefully some of the experianced players stand up and say some words, get neville in to do some shouting and motivation, hell find mr motivator offer him a note or 2.

listen to 3 lions

shout at each other

push eachother about and get fired up.

thers somthing to learn from nfl here, with team spirit, u can see ther passion even b4 the match.

Yes, we have to play for a win. It would almost be better for us if we had to win, we must ditch the draw thought from our minds.

Hope Joe Cole is pushed forward to play off Crouch, if the team rumours are true (5 in midfield). I would have gone for Defoe. But if the they do push Cole up, and SWP, Gerrard and Lampard make frequent runs into the box, the maybe we can at last put a team under sustained pressure, and I think Cole and Crouch can get one goal each.

Barry in the holding role, he must play, being our most consistent player in recent games.

Agree with Carson selection.

The worst result tonight would be an England victory as it will again mask the incompetence of our so called manager.

He is now letting the press pick his team, bullied by Club Managers and tactically as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike....

england are today the laughing stock of europe possibly the world, all through mclarens tenure we have been very lacklustre in performances and yesterdays result came as no surprise, all these wonderful players who show no willingness or desire to win, i for one am glad we are out because this a major wake up call, the fool mcclaren was sacked and personally id dump half of the team and look for players who would show some pride when playing for their country it might be time to once again look to the lower leagues , these players are not on 60-70k a week and would be honoured to represent england.
at least now we can watch some proper football next summer and not embarrass ourselves for the few weeks.

@shankly75: but do you honestly believe that there are all these young, passionate and hungry patriotic English -born players hanging around in the lower leagues or the resrves of EPL teams, just waiting to be called up to arms and die on the pitch for England? And even if there were some such players, do you think that "passion" for the England shirt would mean we'd win more matches?
