i really hope steve bruce comes back to wigan.

i know hes not first choice for everyone, but lets be realistic.........

there was talk of peter reid, joe royle, greame souness etc but i think steve bruce is a better manager than all of these.

Ok he might not have achieved as much on paper as some of the above, but i just get the feeling that hed do a better job at wigan than the others. If the worst happened and we went down i think we would come back up(stronger) with bruce at the helm.
He can attract the players on his own.

hes got great contacts with arsenal hasnt he?he knows melchiot and heskey.I cant really put my finger on it, but i do think hed do a super job at wigan athletic.

why,it seems, are birmingham fans not really that bothered in seeing him go??is it because there a yo-yo club??is it because it seems like there has been not much improvement over the years??

if it is that, then my argument would be did anyone question sam allerdyce at bolton when they were the yo-yo club?? look what he achieved eventually at the club??

my point basically out of all the realistic managers who could possibly manage wigan, steve bruce has got to be up there the best.

what do you think wiganers??

Steve bruce is a yoyo manager. Likes to go up and down a lot. Doesnt have what it takes for successful preiership management but is arguably to good for the championship, much like Wigan. A match made in heaven you say?

Birmingham have to be really pleased with the deal i mean there getting 3 million for a bloke who was going to get the sack in January.they would have had to pay him compensation and then another huge slice of luck martin jol doesn't feel ready to go back into football just yet bless him . i wonder if spurs are still paying him ??? but getting back to Wigan dave Whelan has earnt a lot of money in his team but not out of football and i think his knowledge for the game shows why.Wigan dont deserve to be in the premiership any way there are rugby town and always will be

As a neutral, I think Steve Bruce is a great appointment for Wigan Athletic. Why would you go with the older managers wo would be off with stress for the last three months of the season??

Ah well, Wigan were always gonna go down this season, and Bruce is a championship manager, so nothings chnaged, it must give hope to the other sides down there thatwe now know two teams that will go down, guess one of smoggies or the mackems will survive now, my moneys on the mackems though

TOTALLY AGREE WITH HALLY21:

He is one of these managers stuck in limbo between the championship and the prem. Organized and determined enough for the championship but lacks the tactical knowledge for the prem.

Bit like his playing career really, good enough to captain Man United but not enough to represent England! Do you think an English Man Utd captain would be overlooked these days?
