Button to shine in 2008

In my humble opinion I can see Button having his best season yet in 2008. I'm not saying he will be champions or even be in the running, however I think we could find him on the podium several times with a few wins thrown in there as well.

I think Honda will be much stronger, they have brought in a great tactician in Ross Brawn and the main point for me is no traction control. Button has one of the smoothest driving styles of all drivers on the grid, it has been his down fall in the past because he struggled to get his tyres up to temperature, but next year could be much more interesting for Button.

I have no doubt that the other drivers will adapt, some will take longer than others, Alonso and Massa may struggle, while with Hamilton it shouldn't make too much difference, as he would go into corners sideways with TC.

Who else will benefit from no TC and who will be left in the dust?

"Didn't he end up 3rd in the Championship 2004, just behind MS and RB? To do better than 3rd, certainly won't be a walk in the park."

It appears he did, with 10 podiums of the 15 in his career. With the right package he could turn some of those thirds to seconds or firsts. I agree it wont be easy, but it is a possibility given the changes.

I hope next year will see improvements, I mean it can't get much worse! I would love to see a Honda as competitive as 2004, but that may be a bit too hopeful, although stranger things have happened! I feel a strong building year may be most likely, but expect great things in 2009. As long as Jenson gets a competitive car, I will be happy!

please! Alonso, Massa, Schumacher, Hamilton, Raikkonen all mediocre kart racers. How well did these guys do against Ardigo, Cesetti, Fore, Mislijevic? The FIA KF1 title race in Mariembourg has better drivers than Ferrari or McLaren have.
here's the guy who crushed lewis hamilton in karts, and he's still racing them. that' what happens when nobody writes you a check

At long last some one who knows what motor racing and in particular F1 is all about at Brackley. Having been 'outside' for a year, surely they can not accuse Ross of bringing all Ferrari's secrets with him.
Nice guy he might be, but Mr Fry should not have been at Honda in the first place, he is first and foremost a rally man and had some success in that field, since taking over Honda have gone backwards.
If McLaren had knocked on Buttons door, this news was probably known by Button therefore I'm staying at Honda statment issued. Jense and Rubeno must be having a ball before the work gets serious.
Good luck to all at Brackley for 2008

Honda appear to be very serious for the 2008 season with the newly appointed Ross Brawn, One can only assume that both parties invloved intend to achieve great hights, Ross Brawn the man dubbed as the master tactician has an impecable record of success Im sure he wishes to add too. smiley

I'm pleased for Button as Honda may finally be able to sort themselves out and provide him with a car worthy of challenging.

Although to say it will all be sorted by the start of next season is a bit optimistic I feel.

i totally agree with ingenioussuperpabs alonso would be at the back of the grid and everyone should show fear because next season he will show hamilton right up and wont have to worry about a corrupt team behind him - hopefully - if he goes to renault

Schumacher? Come on, his dad was a bricklayer and his mum sold hot dogs at the trackside. Look at his Kart racing record. He won a championship with a set of worn off tires he found in a skip because money was so tight. He was the last rags to riches story in F1. I don't like the guy on a personal level and for his "win at all costs" mentality, but no one who knows motorsport would call him a mediocre driver. Even Eddie Irvine, who had a shaky relationship with him is qouted in a biography as saying "Michael is the best, people still don't realise how good he is". And that is after 3 world championships (at the time).

Like I said, I'm not a fan of the guy personally, but credit where credit's due.
