I thought that this was an interesting derby. I believe that Petrov was extremely lack-lustre, aswell as Reo-Coker. Ashley Young DOMINATED for the first 55 mins but then appeared absent. Barry played steady, and I think Laursen to be MOTM. Knight was strong throughout, and Carew left to desire match fitness. Unlucky Brum, worked hard, but played out of the game by a better team. Up The Villa!!!
"Your first post was awful"Awfull Enliten me!"grammar*sorry couldn't help it"You know it because i write so much in a rush i sometimes press the key next to one i am after but sometimes as you pointed out "gramour" There is no excuse I must proof read before pressing send! But i admit my spelling is not the greatest far from it, but i dont pretend it is, like i dont pretend we are better than Villa because i know we are not, but we had a go, and it was no walk over and we are not kidding ourselves into thinking we will finish, higher than 14th! unless Yeung has cash, but Sunderland spent £37M and they still are not safe!If this helps Villa finish in Europe then great as long as it does not cost us Relegation... so Good Luck my fellow Brummies! The KiD

From a Villa nut I think MON summed it up perfectly. "Could have gone either way". Luck went with the Villa and we made the most of it. Still the old trojan horse trick works every time (thanks Ridge!).If Blues stick with Forsell they'll stay up no problem. Then maybe we can beat them every year!
Just to have my say on the two penalties, there is no way Knight meant to handle the ball and he didn't deny a goal-scoring opportunity. That can't be a penalty. De Ridder shuold have had a penalty, but he dived like a shot swan and made it look like it wasn't a penalty. IMHO, Bennet should have given the pen and booked De Ridder, but Villa got away with it because he dived. Blues fans, blame De Ridder for the loss! BTW, for a Villa fan, it gets no better than an Turncoat turning the ball into his own net!LOL!!!!
There are 3 reasons why we lost today A) 4 4 1 1 B) Steve Bennett C) Cameron Jerome's inexperienceWe wont always have to endure the first 2 and given time the lad will develop some composure in front of goal. In the meantime it was fantastic to see Mikael Forsell back again and scoring the pick of the game's goals.KRO
reo coker, poor! and id like to thank villa again for purchusing that lump named marlon harewood, 2 good seasons for 500,000 and sold him on for 4 million to rot in villa's reserves
"You were lucky" "We were unlucky".. Whatever. It wasn't a classic but our Derby games never are. I would have settled for a point but was of course delighted with Gabby's winner. The atmosphere was amazing. Both fans played their part and to be fair, Blues played ok and will stay up. Of course if the penalty claims were for us we'd all be moaning like Bruce and the Blues fans... it comes with the territory of being a fickle one-eyed football fan! What miffs me is that it's a massive Derby, with more passion than any other, this is evident as it's the only one forced to be played on sleepy Sunday morning, yet the BBC hardly give it any attention! When I was getting ready to leave for the game yesterday morning, Gary Richardson and his guest on 5Life ended the show by going through the days main matches and their predictions. They discussed the Man Utd game, Chelsea game, Tottenham game, Portsmouth game and even the Torquay game. Ours didn't even get a mention!!!

I thought petrov was excellent, obviously MON did too that why him moved him inside for the 2nd half.Zat Knight SOLID THROUGH OUT!!!???!!! madness!! did you not see the blues goal??? he came hurteling up the pitch with no hope of getting the ball and was completly miss out by a simple flick on, leaving a giant hole at CB which forsell, being the goalscorer that he is exposed. And yes Ashley Young was absent for the last 35 mins.... aprt from when he slipped the full back and put in the cross for OUR WINNER!!!
furthermore it would seem that the reporter from the times would agree with me, as he gave Petrov and Young 7's and Knight a 4 (out of 10)
