My word this kid is do freaking strong. He got the Drogba ability of unsettling defences with his presence. Is not the most skillful but so strong quick and a good finisher too.Think hes still just 19 or so.Hope hes true at heart and doesn't go play for England like Agbonlahor and the rest.Your Nigerian son.Be proud of that and represent your real country.

I was very impressed with the contribution of Yakubu for Everton. He is starting to realise the Everton way. Five wins in a row, Cahill back and Johnson and Vaughan soon to return to full fitness also. When you look at it like that. I think we have to be favourites for fifth spot. Certainly favourites to cause another upset and get 4th again.

4th spot, Carling Cup, FA Cup and Uefa Cup for us this season boys smiley (and girls)

If Liverpool end up in the EUFA Cup then go on to win it, but finish 4th in the Prem, do you think they will be complaining about wanting to defend their title (like when they finished 5th but won the Champs Leage) and insist they play in the EUFA Cup instead of the Champs League next season? smiley

Awaykit,

That thinking is quality!! What do you reckon? I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say No, they will not want to defend it. The LFC of old may of, but it is run by American investors now and as such they will want to reap more finances for their FRANCHISE lol

The Yak was also quite impressive. And for those that question his age - he's actually 24 or 25. I've watched him play as a kid in Nigeria and then I must have been at least 5 years older than him. I'm 32 now. He's always been a bulky mass of steel.

Yakubu did all the legwork with an excellent performance. Best i've seen him play for us so far. When he came to us he was really unfit,He has obviously worked very hard on his fitness and understanding the work ethic that is required at Everton. All we ever want is for players to show total commitment to the cause,Yak did that last night well done mate.

I disagree that it was an even contest. Apart from a couple of defensive howlers, Everton were by far the better team

All you need to do is to look at the player stats on the BBC Everton page and you will see that Yakubu is 24 - until 22nd November that is. smiley

Loving the fact that we now expect ersults like last night. True sign that this team is going places. Will be really interesting to see how he juggles all the strikers when AJ is back. Chelsea this week. Stranger things have happened..

I don't really fancy our chances away to Chelsea on Sunday, but who knows? Surely another top 6 place is on the cards though! What really excites me is that we are scoring from all over the field, unlike a couple of years ago when we qualified for Europe with a negative goal difference in the Premiership. Anichebe certainly looks a very promising prospect for the future. It's slightly worrying, though, that our previously reliable defence has been leaking quite a lot of goals this season. I reckon Moyes should look to strengthen this area come the next transfer window. I agree with others that it's an exciting time to be a Blue at the moment, and full credit for this to Moyes and Kenwright. smiley
