What do you all think the new coach has to acheive this season for it to be a success? I'd say mid-table and some good cup runs (maybe win one) would be a great bit of work by him.

A win is a win, but it not really anything to get excited about with this level of opposition.

The real tests are still in front of us.

Fair enough the game was dire, but in spurs current position the fact that a) we won b) it was away c) we kept a clean sheet. These are all positives regardless of opposition.

As for the following comments in the report;

"Five minutes later the points were in the bag. Malbranque brilliantly beat his man and floated in a lovely cross that was begging for Berbatov to head it home, which he did with his usual minimum fuss.

His celebration was minimal too, the Bulgarian barely breaking into a smile.

Berbatov's moody manner will have done nothing to convince doubters that he is happy to stay as Spurs, as he had insisted earlier in the day, and not unsettled as has been reported.

The goal was just Berbatov's third of a poor season so far and that aside, he did absolutely nothing of any note in the game."

I think these are completely unessacary comments, the guy is being completely crushed by the media, give him a break he scored, he did a job like anybody else, to target him in the way he has been in this report or just generally is disgraceful.

Not a great match, but a win. I wish these reporters would stop being sloppy in their reports. I remember watching Berbatov last season and he never really celebrated after scoring. I think he just has one of those demeanours where he never really looks happy. I hear a lot of rubbish about his body language - he's always had that languid style - it's just how he is. No-one mentioned it when he was the new 'wonder boy'. I thought his comments about the press and wanting to stay at Spurs were the most revealing thing - sounds like an honest man who's a bit of an introvert and nothing wrong with that! COYS

Spurs played like a team who are in trouble, against poor opposition.
Don't get carried away Spurs fans.
Mind you, these days any win is cause to celebrate, they're not coming along that frequent are they!

I managed to see about an hour of the game and although the game wasn't edge of the seat excitement, I'm happy with the performance. Normally when the game is pretty poor we end up losing or drawing. This time we managed to come out on top. The attempted "killer" pass seems to be fading too. We are more content to hold on to the ball and wait for the opportune moment. FINALLY! A little patience at Spurs.
KP Boateng, I like the look of him, he looks like a good signing.

You're obviously an arse fan. It's just a matter of time before your boys crack up under the pressure and will finish no higher than 5th. For us things are on the mend...laugh

It was a great trip to Tel Aviv. A pity that the club marketed the trip so incompetently that they didn't sell all of our ticket allocation.
