Paula back to her best

comment on the article

Paula Radcliffe's winning run in the 2007 New York Marathon surely has to rate as one of her greatest triumphs.

Shadowed by her sprint-finish nemesis Gete Wami for the entire race, she gave the Ethiopian a taste of her own medicine to seal her second Big Apple victory.

It was Radcliffe's first marathon since winning the world title in 2005, and she looked to be back to her best after giving birth to daughter Isla in January.

How do rate Paula's performance? Can she deliver success for Great Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and even extend her career to London 2012?

"Look people I don't think you understand me correct."
Your inability to express yourself in any logical and meaningful manner does not help.
Please read your own posts including the one about some overpaid footballer and contrast it with your comments on PR.

(tim400) Stick to the subject and explain to me what you mean by I don't know my own physical limits?

<<<But other than that, she also happens to be a crashing bore and a thoroughly bad loser with an infantile mentality.>>>

Back in the early days of mass media comment about
solo stars Dave Bedford was given a thoroughly bad press, because his presence on screen was not on the spot.

These days most professional performers
know which side their bread is buttered,
and there is no point in being rude to everybody watching; it just loses fans/supporters, whatever you care to call them.

I don't think PR does any such unpleasant thing, and the amount of training she does she would in any case have every right to swing as much lip as she likes at anybody who gets in here way, and STILL WIN.

She has got manners and she is a lady.

I'm reading up; she has the now standing record of 2:15:25 (London '03) Marathon breaking her run at the Chicago Marathon at 2:17:18 in '02. That's almost 2 whole minutes; she's setting a standard.

Now, the men's Marathon record is 2:04:26 by Gebrselassie at this year's Berlin Marathon.

The Chicago marathon run was a land mark in the history of World Athletics.

I had a friend staying who was not an athlete, and I insisted on his watching!

Don Thompson, bless 'im,(Hi Don!) way back in the 50's, with the marathon walk, did similar things.

Kelly Holmes put on a good gamesmanship show recently at Athens but nothing like the dedication, tenacity, and sheer doggéd pluck of the all time great Paula Radcliffe and the Chicago
marathon.

There is no gamesmanship in Marathons.

It could hardly have got better after the London record as well!
