They should keep Martin Jol. As Maccaogl said. The real problem there is that they have a bunch of namby players. Berbatov is a sulky little so and so. Defoe is the same way. Robbie Keane was this way when he was dropped. I think players can cause a lot of damage for a manager. It is high time the board said we will have Jol all season and therefore the players will basically shape up or ship out. Who needs players who feel it is their God given right to start. There is no doubting Berbatov's talent but I certainly doubt his application.

With regards to his "nice guy" persona. I will bet he can be a s tough as the rest of them. He comes across that way in the interview after games to show he is keeping his composure. Steve Bruce is the same way. I wouldn't mess with either of them.

By the way I am a Liverpool fan who is trying to be objective. I remember as a kid in the 81,82 etc enjoying Spurs a lot with the likes of Archibald, Ardilles and "still Ricki Villa". I don't wish any ill will to Spurs.

Love the comment of Spurs being 'underfunded' and the board should be sacked. Typical Spurs fan. They have spent just as much as anyone else over the years if not more. The only teams who have spent more are Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool and you aren't too far off them! All you Spurs 'fans' like to do is moan about the board and manager. If you win next week you'll e kissing their @ss's again!

I think Martin Jol should be sacked as he is a good manager wasted at a small, failing club like Spurs, who's 'glorious' history, with the exception of '61, '81 and '91, is largely based on myth

Me and my friends are spurs supporters,

At the start of the season they were all going on about top four finish etc. I turned round and said Jol needed 2 very good CB and a left mid and really good cm. I said if we didn't we would stuggle and I was right Dawson makes to many mistakes, Kaboul is good but young and needs a wise head to put him inline. Jenas is crap and how people rate him I have no idea, last night he was just walking round and cost us the third goal. If I was R Keane I would have turn round and said pull your socks up or get off!! Bottom line we can't defend, Jol plays average players Malbranque, Jenas,Tainio they are not good enough. We have lennon and Berbatov whats he playing at. We have that french wonder kid who plays left mid who has looked good but only gets 2 mins at best?? Jol didn't bring in the players and is paying for it.

It gets on my nerves watching them perform like a bunch of school boys and making mistake after mistake then Jol saying we have a talented squad and there come good. Sorry mate you spent loads in the summer and could not even see we needed a new back 4 not 16mil Bent. We have this german guy who is very good but can not get in the team!!

I can see we have to play with what we have got:

Cerny,
Chimbonda, Dawson, Kaboul, Lee
Zokora/Hudd as DM to protect crap back 4

Lennon and Bale as attacking mid
Keane just behind the front two

Berbatov,Defo

If I can see that why can't Jol sorry he has to go or we be playing Wolves next season we all need to wake up and demand improvement!!!!

I am a Getafe fan and it amused me to read that the game on Thursday night should be a comfortable game for Spurs. Because from what I know we are more than capable of causing an upset and adding to Jols problems. Our team this year in my opinion is better than our team last year although with all the changes it is not quite clicking. But with a good 2-0 win at the weekend perhaps the tide has turned. You have been warned.

Because from what I know we are more than capable of causing an upset and adding to Jols problems. Our team this year in my opinion is better than our team last year although with all the changes it is not quite clicking. But with a good 2-0 win at the weekend perhaps the tide has turned. At the beginning of the season, Spurs fans were hoping to dislodge Arsenal from the top 4. The British press was suggesting the same thing. Reason: Because Martin Jol frittered away over 40million pounds in the breeze! Well, the chips are down, and it is evident that spurs are even fighting to see if they can break into the top half of the table. I am an arsenal fan, but i don't want Spurs relegated. We need them around for the healthy rivalry to continue. The players need strong leadership, and motivation now, and it is clear Martin Jol cannot deliver both at this time. What with Berbatov refusing to obey instructions when ordered to warm up for action against Newcastle. Stuff like that tell u the manager is no longer in charge. Can this happen at Man Utd under SAF's watch or at Arsenal under AW's watch? definitely not. Martin jol should bow out now before he gets kicked out, and that won't be long in coming!

We have to give Jol til January to sort us out. If we're not mid-table by then he has to go.

If we don't finish above say 8th by the end of the season then he has to go.


Jol may not be doing so well now - but we're still winning more games (%-wise) than under any other manager in the Prem - we owe him this chance.

1-2 To the Mighty Blues of Getafe................. Ok admittedly I was sorry about the Jol situation but Getafe were more than capable of giving Spurs a game. Mind you when I saw that we only played our reserve team I had my fears. But they played well showing that we have strength and depth and are winning goal was made in heaven.
