Santa Cruz´s miraculous recovery

Ok, so in my opinion, Santa Cruz blatantly wasn´t injured with tendonitis, first of all he played the full game against Brum, then it´s said he´s injured, out for six weeks possibly, then he makes a miraculous recovery in perfect timing after the international break. I´m happy that he played today of course, but it it does whiff of "you´re not going all the way to Paraguay to get injured, matey" Anyone else agree?

Anyway great result today, only slightly disappointed we let in two the other end, but good to have the strikers scoring regularly. Come on Rovers! Spuds are going down if they lose to ´Castle then us there will be serious problems in Spud Fart Lane. Mwah hah hah hah...

Santa Cruz definitely has tendonitis, it's a recurring problem he's had since before the last World Cup. He's had scans to prove it. But the press have completely misreported the problem. Only journalists who are too thick to find out about the injury decided he was out for 6 weeks - they've taken a quote from him telling a Paraguayan radio station that he'll be able to play for Paraguay in Novemeber as meaning he wouldn't play before then. But look up paletta tendonitis over the 'net - it's a short term problem that's relieved by a few days' rest. It's not even essential to stop playing, although I'm sure Rovers hae seen the international break as an opportunity for him to rest.

Owen played a week after a hernia op. A bloke at work couldn't walk 3 weeks after his op so if it's 7 days for a hernia then 14 days is sufficient for tendonitis.

By the way when did THE CLUB ever say 6 weeks? Yes that's right they never, the papers did, and the gullible swallow it all doh

I think it was the Paraguayan team that actually discovered the problem and sent him home so I don't think there's anything suspicious going on here.

I'm really pleased Roque was fit for the game. I think he's been our best striker this season by a long way.

What bothers me more is that we have no idea when Reid is to return. Quite a while ago we were told by Williams that he was back in full training and would be pushing for a 1st team place within a week or two. It makes me very uneasy that there has been no talk of him since then. Just hope he doesn't do a Jansen and never recover to his former quality.

erm Johnny, look a few threads further down - Rovers have said Reid will play in tonight's reserve game at Ewood... ok
