Andy Murray won in St Petersburg to keep alive his Race to Shanghais.

Murray has returned to good form in recent weeks, reaching the final of Metz (l. Robredo) and the third round of Madrid (l. Nadal). In Sunday's final Andy beat Spanish sixth seed Fernando Verdasco in straight sets, he was untroubled for much of the match.

The run means Murray is very much in the hunt for a place in Shanghais he is just three points off eighth position.

They opened their campaign with a win over Garcia/Prieto but were edged out in two tiebreaks against Kubot/Lovko. Prior to the tournament Stretch has only had 1 win in 4 weeks though he has been experimenting with different partners and two of those losses were against the very inform Frystenberg/Matkowski
