bobstyles007 (U9663136) posted Oct 19, 2007 Almost, but rugby is a great game played by men not wimps. BECKHAM has really taken the LA franchise hasnt he. Hes getting enormous money for doing nothing. But why should I be surprised. Football is a terribly boring game were generally speaking nothing happens. Mind you he didnt do much for the game in spain or england

Its only some footballers like Fat Frank who dont care about playing for their country while others like Becks, Barry love it and are proud of it. And as for the amount of money in football, its because there is so much interest so football will definitely remain more popular but im not saying its better than rugby, no sport is better than the other.

Webelieve (U10076798) posted Oct 22, 2007 On your first point, that is your prerogative... i personally prefer the physicality, athleticism and skill involved with rugby rather than the boring, simple game of football. On the latter point, i say thank goodness rugby is the minority sport, and long may it remain so. Would hate to see the game embraced by the masses and compromised. The fact it remains the less popular game to some degree saves it from devolving instead into a soft, over-commercialised industry more concerned with big contracts, endorsements and selling t-shirts than the sport itself.
