wolfreen (U6105891) posted Oct 19, 2007 The whole point of my post is that Murray is not a lesser player than Blake , Gonzales or Ferrer if not better than all of them , he just need to come up with a good game plan. Yesterday he was so close but in the big points it seams he didn’t know what to do !!

I watched him against JMDP and berdych and he really looked like the old good nalby. his movement was much better, his backhand was firing again and his confidence was stroming. I agree with Kim & rafa that it will largely depend on which nalby we are gonna see. if he plays like his last 2 matches and if rafa's knees are ok, then it well be some match.

Elfenomeno_9 (U7483657) posted Oct 19, 2007 I agree with you kim & rafa. rafa added nice variety to his hard-court game. he is much more agressive than last year. his serve has vastly improved and can improve more. I wuould have liked to watch him against JB in IW this year when rafa was in awesome form. but I still give james the edge over rafa on the hard-court.

aquaCharlotte4 (U7224252) posted Oct 19, 2007 I thought Andy played a great match. I admit to not being a fan, but let's be fair, he matched Nadal last night, well done to him. Unfortunately there can only be one winner. He has all the shots in the book and he will get better. At the moment Nadal is much tougher mentally, he'll grind forever to break down his opponent's resistance and finally deliver the killer blow. Also not easy for a young player to maintain momentum in front of a fiercely patriotic crowd.

Canadiancharles (U2983528) posted Oct 19, 2007 I have never wavered from the opinion I formed the first time I saw Murray play. He has an enormous talent and is the most complete player, outside Federer, on the tour. Because of that, I also believe he has the potential (note all you critics I said potential) to be the one player who could match Federer on a regular basis. But, he still has one weakness that has to be overcome. When Nadal ratcheted up the heat toward the end of the first set, it threw Murray off balance to the extent he gave up the initiative to Rafa, (ditto in set 2) although the game he played to break back at 6-5 was superb. What he now has to do is learn to raise his game to that level, when needed, for longer than one game. and more consistently.

tennisfan (U10025595) posted Oct 21, 2007 as i predicted out in the 3rd round. despite al the hype abouthow he ran a close game he lost and again the high expectations (by the media) have been proved wrong. Lets face it nearly every player in the top 50 will at some stage give the big boys a hard match and sonmetimes win --BUT not consistantly. Murray wil stay languishing around top 20 no more. Take a look at the other players and get this Murray bandwagon into perspective Comment on this article
