Clint Newton to Rovers !

Super League Hull KR
comment on the article

Melbourne Storm have kept Jeremy Smith meaning Clint Newton will move to Hull KR according to this report !

Also Garret Crossman is set to sign.

'Newton, who received an approach by Newcastle about a return to his old club, said he would move to England's Hull KR later this year.

Crossman, who has been unfortunate to be squeezed out of the Storm's grand final teams for the past two years, said he was also on the verge of signing with Hull KR.

"It's pretty much sealed mate," Crossman said. "I'm just waiting on the formalities of it but Hull KR looks like where it's at." '

"Would you rather us bring in another 3 U21's and let them get hammered and Rovers get hammered every week?"

Sounds like a rhetorical question and I would a few people on this board would answer "Yes".

My apologies we brought in 3 and i meant to say 3 more.

In relation to the abover Rovers are a tad smarter then that and are making great strides in all areas of the club. Many are just scared of what a forward think board can achieve in just a few years.

The biggest issue on the youth talent front is that now there is genuine competition in Hull for youth player signatures. For far too long if a promising young lad wanted to "get on" he (naturally) went to FC as they were the SL club. This has provided FC with the admiral wealth of talent they now have on show.

However, now that there is competition in that there are 2 SL teams, there is a real danger that KR will be able to aquire, bring on and field their own youth talent. A prospect which frightens the absolute cr4p out of some blinkered FC fans.

Can anyone tell me where Rhys Lovegrove fits in? Does he have some kind of dispensation with being just 20 years of age?

I do believe so. I'm a bit bored of all this 'oh my god they've signed another Aussie'

What they fail to mention is we are sign quality Aussies, and some of it is coming from Quins fans who have produced like 1 Cockney lad. Well done!

Our youth development is back on track also. It doesn't happen over night, considering 10 years ago we practically didn't even have one!

Just ignore them there all bitter. What they don't realise is that we have 40% less aussies in our squad for 2008 then we did last season. This point is missed. They just feel the need to try and belittle us. Not one SL club has made more of a progression then we have in such a small space of time.

We are becoming genuine contenders for the playoffs and less then 8th in 2008 will be a dissapointment.
