I really cannot believe that people are still talking about Farrell. I think the experiment is over and regretfully it failed.
He was a very good RL player, the stats show it, but for whatever reason he has not been a success in Union, also shown by the stats. Sarries supporters will not accept this but I do not think we will see him in an England shirt again

I did say 'winning team' not original team! Ashton's original team selection performed poorly and the team only started winning when changes were forced upon him.

Tait should be on the wing as SA have speed to burn out wide and he proved in the Australian game that he is tactically aware in this position. Hipkiss played really well when he came on and I prefer him to Jamie Noon who is sometimes tactically nieve. Farrell is simply too slow against a team with this much speed to play at outside centre and he should only play if Catt is out he can then use his kicing and defensive abilities at inside centre.

Leave Tait where he is in the centre. He's done a great job there and no opposition has looked comfortable against him. Please don't bring in Andy Farrell. I'm not saying he's a rubbish player but he lack's the experience of incredibly tough Rugby Union matches, by the next World Cup he might well be England's best player, just don't rush him into it or you'll break him. Stick Mark Cueto on the wing. OK, I know he had a bad game against USA but he was at full-back not on the wing. Cueto is probably one of the best tackling-wingers in the world so it wouldn't be much of a risk to stick him opposite Habanna.

Conversion = 2 points, penalty/drop goal + 3 points.

2 x 2 = 4
+

Actually, to be precise I said how many of the original picks were NOW in the (winning) team. Cueto was an original pick but has not played in the last two games. If he is picked for the weekend he may be an original pick in a FUTURE winning team!
I hope he is not picked at the expense of Hipkiss at centre as I think he provided something extra in the second half against France.
I note that both Hipkiss and Tait are in your suggested team in an earlier article so I think we are actually in agreement on this.

The England team have accomplished wonders to reach another World Cup Final and it is very unlucky for Lewsey to be injured.
I would like to pass comment on all the derisory stabs at Andy Farrell by people on this debate who have obviously never played rugby of a decent standard in either RL or RU.
Farrell should be given his chance in the final. He should have started against the French, but again was unfortunate as Lewsey is now through injury. His defence and ball distribution skills are better thatn the 36yr old South African we currently have, and whose mistakes the RU pundits seem to ignore?
Great chance for England and bring on the Boks!

Hi Guys,

Guess it's time to apologise. I'm just lonely and enjoy the attention I get from being a Wind Up Merchant. From now on I'm going to stick to what I know - namely being a plastic scouser and learning how to tie my shoe laces myself.
