quote: "so a tri nation tournament with samoa fiji and tonga it is then."

That tournament will be full of high tackles.
People that thinks England or Argentina rugby (for example) is too boring, must not be very accustomed to this sport

What? Worse than Australia? Surely not?

"Touch. Pause. Engage!"

Where, precisely, does it say "collapse!"?

Losers.

on arrogance... I think people often get carried away cheering for their team and it can be mistaken for arrogance. All fans seem to think those from other nations are arrogant. Forums like this allow brave little people to talk big behind their keyboard and probably arent that indicative of fans as a whole.

For what its worth, I've seen no signs of arrogance from this SA team at all.. just from a few of their fans on here... but the vast majority of them have been balanced in their views. Not something I can say for the Kiwi's who (sweeping generalisation I admit) on the whole appear to need to learn how to lose with grace.

SA are deserved favourites and will be worthy winners of the cup if they win on Saturday. Obviously I hope that doesn't happen, and I do believe England have a shout at this if we can start well and get our line-out functioning.

liam you joke but apparently judging by reactions from aus an NZ fans its a disgrace they went out so early because they should just have to turn up to win games!!!! ok so that maybe a big generalisation but its the impression i've got personally since the quarters but i do apologise if this is not your way of thinking

the reason i posted what i did was because there have been a lot of aussies an NZ fans saying they play much more exciting rugby and should be in the final because its much more entertaining

fact of the matter is (and real rugby fans will agree here), Aus NZ an SA are not the three most exciting nations to watch...that doesnt mean they arent exciting but everyone has this view that they are the MOST exciting

I mean, how many people we honestly (bar SA fans of course) for Fiji to get another score after getting back to 20-20.

England are called boring for using their forward power....meaning exciting rugby is played through the backs....nowhere is this used more than with Fiji, Samoa and Tonga. The reason its not well advertised is because they dnt play as regularly as most other teams but i am just using the logic all the NZ an aus fans are using, and unfortunately they still do not win exciting rugby awards

Now again, do not misinterpret...because i do agree that NZ an aus play more attractive rugby, and the reason they are so good is because they have a better balance to their game than the above teams, but if anyone says that the greatest advert for rugby is to see teams that play exciting rugby play each other (i.e not have england in the final) then i suggest seriously lets have a tri-nations with those 3 and get it televised....because when the SH teams play each other they're too afraid to lose to play the exciting rugby we know they can play

I belive the same thing will happen to South Africa as did New Zeland a path of "weaker" teams making them overconfidant and out of "big game practise".

England have played three of the worlds top five sides, South africa have played none.

It is an utter disgrace that England are in a final. They are boring and are such a terrible advert for Rugby. I hope South Africa smash them. It will also give some much needed humilty to the very ungracious English Media, players and fans.

I for one would like to see an annihilation and I fully expect to see one. SA have smashed useless England 3 times in the last 6 months.

England should not be anywhere near this final!

you sum up everything that is wrong with the round ball version of football.

You hate the english, yet you are a gloryhunter "fan" of an english team

Why dont you support Swansea/Cardiff (or Celtic/Rangers if you are Scottish)

sorry for off-topic, but had to said

If this World Cup has been a success in any way
it is a victory of sheer determination over arrogance, conceit and predjudice. The bile that has been spat out at England in particular by losing nations has got
to be the low point of this wonderful sport.

These forums have just served as a platform
for racist and ignorant rubbish from halfwits.
Where are the moderators??

I appreciate that England has had a ropey 4 years but anyone with a fraction of understanding of the game would appreciate that
a raft of retirements, injuries, mismanagement
of club/country structure and understrength touring with 3rd choice players would have affected any other team in much the same way.

We have been accused of having a 'born-to-rule'
attitude...that is some accusation coming from
all those who somehow felt they deserved to be
cup winners despite their own poor performances.

To reach the finals despite the obstacles and
problems shows grit clearly missing from many
teams who cannot show more grace in defeat.
