WAKE UP – We’ve got it good...very good.

Formula One

Am I the only one who is totally fed up from reading the anti-Hamilton and anti-Alonso posts? It seems all very childish to me that we can not appreciate that Formula One is a cut throat, dog eat dog business and that drivers, mechanics and teams as a whole will have fall outs and arguments. Each team will try to bend the rules as best they can to gain an advantage over their rivals – every single team front runner or not will be doing this – and within each team there will be added factions between the drivers and their respective mechanics. It’s what makes F-1 so intriguing.

You can be a Hamilton fan, an Alonso fan, a fan of another driver, a fan of a team or, like me, just a fan of the sport (Damon is the only driver I’ve cheered religiously!!!) but whatever your loyalties just take a look at why you’re a fan in the first place.

We are fans of F-1 because of the speed, skill, excitement, technology, glamour, tactics, politics, the global nature of the sport and the pure adrenaline you get when watching a race unfold. More so we are fans because of the wonderful history of the sport, the vicious battles of years gone by, the bitter rivalries (in my lifetime I think of Senna/Prost – Schumi/Hill) that have kept us on the edge of our seats. These rivalries and battles have spilled out onto the back pages of the press over the years and into bars and pubs across the world. It is because of these terrific winner-takes-all contests, the battles, the fall outs and the politics that we fell in love with the sport.

We remember fondly the days of Senna/Prost and we seem to be unable to realise that we have a similar battle on our hands right here, right now - we should embrace it, enjoy it and savour it. We are in danger of letting what promises to be a wonderful few years in F-1 pass us by through petty hatred and biased arguments.

Support Hamilton, support Alonso…whatever…but respect the fact that they are two top class drivers fighting in a deeply cut throat business where the winner takes it all. Enjoy the tantrums, enjoy the politics, enjoy the passion, enjoy the battles, enjoy the rivalries but for Pete’s sake quit the childish slagging off.

F-1 without drivers desperate to win would not be worth watching.

Wake up and realise that we have got something good going on here, very good – something we maybe telling our children and grandchildren about.

Today i read in spanish press (sucks, not more as english and this forum tho) that Lewis is thinking on leaving F1 if "things" continue this way. (spy, penalties, press pressure..etc)

I would like to support him and remember that you shouldnt be worry, he always will be in the pink press, with his daddy and our sweet Uncle Ron (or should i say John Ron Silver?).

Do Ron have a pet por something?
I would love to have a poster of the whole family.

Xynoxx :
No , it isn't =) Why should Fernando had "towered over" Lewis ? They're both good drivers.

Perhaps he should keep saying that (or is that wishful thinking by the Spanish press, hoping that will leave the way clear for their boy, since he can't beat Hamilton)

Then when they believe it and breathe a sigh of relief, Hamilton should say fooled you! Then spend the new season spoiling their boy's days again.

Now that, would be fun!

Some of the posts on here make me laugh!, so Alonso should have towered over Hamilton?, this is really justa bit of reverse psychology by all those people that think Hamilton can do no wrong, by saying this they try and elevate further the god like status of Hamilton in F1.

Personally I would love to see the face of Ron Dennis if Alonso picks up the drivers crown in Brazil, I can almost see it now!

Everybody talks about how disliked Alonso is but if you look at the drivers responses this year, Hamilton has come under more criticism from fellow drivers that Alonso - just ask Mark Webber!

Personally, i feel that they have both made mistakes. One of the differences has been that Alonso has been transparent whereas Hamilton has hidden behind the "team" image he tries so hard to continue to create.

I couldnt get my head around the shaking hands with all the engineers thing after he drove his McLaren into the gravel?, was this because he had made a terrible mistake himself and was apologising to his engineers? Why else would he do it?

"I can tell you exactly why people are moaning about LH, and its ridiculous. We, as a nation, just love losers! Hamilton is a winner, the likes of which we have not seen since Schumacher."

-------------------

Well, no, and no!.
What you can see mostly in this forum is a depply unracional hate against Alonso, and a blind support for an english men.
Some ppl noted that, and react against LH.

And, Lewis Hamilton a winner?
Excuse me, who is that guy? Lewis What?
Well, he didnt win ANYTHING.
Pray for him to win, cause if not, i am sure he is lost...very lost.

I like him and i think he would win tho. smiley

redjon - absolutely right. We seem to be embarrassed by winners. If Hamilton had had a duck of a seasn, however, the knives would also have beenout. In tenni, remember what they did to poor old Henman. The nearly man, was one cruel tag. And Hill came in for some stick too.

It seems to be a weird schizoid thing. Wnat him to win,but when he does, feelembarrased, If he loses, roast him.

SpainF1 - projecting again?

This, however, is nice:

"The Finn is seven points behind Hamilton in the first three-way tussle for the championship since 1986."

Since 1986!! If anything, Hamilzon has brought an end to those dreary processions with the No.2 trailing like a good little duckling.

Just enjoy what Brazil might bring.
