"Back when Milan played Inter in the Champions league and they had that major crowd trouble Dida was struck on the shoulder by a flare, luckily it was the cold end that hit him. Uncannily he went down holding his face and was carried off on a stretcher again. It proves the guys got form."

For goodness sake - the guy got hit by a flare! I think he's entitled to go down. I can only imagine the uproar if all this had been the other way round. Don't forget as soon as that fan ran onto the pitch and made contact with the keeper Milan were well within their rights to walk off the pitch and refuse to return. Celtic fans should be THANKFUL of Dida's reaction, as it looks like it has taken the heat off Celtic for the real issue here and they probably won't be punished as heavily as they should be because of it.

Celtic have done their bit... banned that twit for life... Now Uefa must do their bit and sort Dida out the guy's a disgrace. His compatriot Rivaldo ruined his reputation against Turkey for the same nonsense .. acting..It drives me bonkers. The big girls blouses!!

Although the Celtic fan was wrong for coming onto the pitch and "wiping a spec of dandruff from Dida's shoulder", Dida should certainly be punished for his disgraceful behaviour. It is that kind of reaction that so frustrates the paying fans, and cheats many results.

"Hypothetical Situation"
If a player 2 foots another player in an obvious attempt to do harm but doesn't connect, and the other player goes down as if Mike Tyson has just landed one on him, BOTH players have committed an offence, regardless of who"started it".

Why should he be punished. He did do wrong but a fan came on the pitch and slapped him... what else was he gonna do have a fight with him!!!

fair enough the fan should not been on the pitch which he has now been banned for life, but trying to fake an attack in order to have our much astonishing win over the european CHAMPIONS taken away from us, so yeah he should be punished. he should have given him a kick up the backside but no, he had to hit the deck like a bunch of bricks holding his face when it was the top of his shoulder he was ticked on. he's a big sissy

CFC get a slap on the wrist and Dida gets banned for 2 games, where is the justice in that? It's now open season for fans to run onto the pitch and attack players. Dida should take out a civil action against Celtic or the idiot that ran onto the park and claim for loss of earnings, defamation of character and anything else he can think off. He reacted as he did because he was assaulted, security was lax, so much so that the stewards helped the idiot back into the stand. If CFC had had their house in order the incident would not have happened and as such they should be held accountable.
UEFA are wimps

Was it worth signing up just to post this ridiculous comment?

"It's now open season for fans to run onto the pitch and attack players"

laughlaughlaughlaughlaughlaugh

Was that an 'attack' were you come from?
I'd say Dida's performance was an attack on the already tainted reputation of football more than anything else that happened.

Fud!!

Were UEFA advised my Gordon Brown because they've well and truly bottled this decision.

Oh well, hope Celtic enjoyed the giant bouquet of flowers and the sorry note that were presumably sent by UEFA to Parkhead.

the real world, face the facts celtic were wrong, it is their duty to protect players and fans and as usual they failed to do so. the biscuit tin mentality has never gone from parkhead, employing their own stewards who not even registered with the authorities, cheapskates. They will earn mega money from the Champions League, so spend it and ensure that everyone involved in football can go and enjoy the match in a friendly and safe environemnt.
