Fractured elbow.

Struggling in centre midfield now - Hargreaves & Fletcher out for a few more weeks and now Carrick out for 6 weeks.

Time for young Anderson to step up to the plate.

Pique, did he not play some matches in a DM position last year? why not give him a chance there instead of JOS. In my mind, JOS will not get any better if he plays in a different position every two weeks. he needs one or two positions and that should be it.

This is a good oppurtunity for Sir Alex to explore the possibility of Saha, Tevez and Rooney all being accomodated in the starting line up.

Anderson will be a Class player for man Utd i could see him be a great for them his only 19 and already shows the talent people say needs to get stronger but that will come but sayin that fabregas isnt really that strong but is one of the best in the world. He should be given the chance and wigan is a better match to be put into beaucse its a 3 ponits anyway also Anderson dosnt mind doing his bit in defence aswell.

With Anderson playin just behind Tevez and Rooney could he be the perfect player to let tevez play higher up the field along with rooney???

anderson showed a few great tricks on tuesday dribbling past a few players but i think united should play john o'shea in defensive midfield and let scholes attack because anderson and scholes leave the defence vunerable but versus wigan at old trafford united shouldn't have any problems

Absolutely!
Like you, I remember the days before metatarsals were invented.I smile when I hear about midfielders "sitting in front of the centre backs protecting them"
What!
Could you imagine the response of Bill Foulkes, Ron Yeats, Jack Charlton, Ian Ure, Billy McNeill being told they needed "protecting" on a football pitch!

Against Wigan, United could use Giggs and Scholes, with Nani and Ronaldo on the wings. Yes United risk conceding a goal but they will no doubt be capable of trouncing Wigan yet again.

Against stronger teams, United may use O'Shea as a holding midfielder. He gives the team some stability. It will be a difficult few weeks for United, but they should be okay considering that Fletcher is only a 2 weeks away from returning.

Now, does anyone know when Ji Sung Park and Gary Neville will be back?

Anderson and Scholes cannot work as a midfield combo, aye? Looked very slick today.

We were not let down by two of our youngsters today in Pique and Simpson either and Gibson is in a similar mould talentwise to Danny so perhaps today shows giving the youth a chance does pay dividends. If JOS is out of the games post international break then Gibson and Fletcher will be back, as well as Anderson to give the GP a decent partner. All in all a very good day.

I can see Fletcher and Scholes getting the nod with O'Shea perhaps at right back given the Brown situation. Anderson is a talent but he might not have the experience to bother high flying Villa and the tricky Boro!
