Dick Campbell

Scottish League Ross County

The revolving door at Victoria Park must be due a service by now. Yet another manager has gone out of it, not to return. A swift nudge by George Adams, and we've lost yet another perfectly good manager. Yet again, are we top of the league and the powers that be at County have lost all sense, must be something to do with a lack of oxygen at the top.

George Adams, along with Derek should be passing through what seems now to be a one way street. Neither father or son have appeared to bring anything good to the club. Surely the board can see that? Quite frankly I'm lost for words.

*UPDATE* - I've just seen on the BBC site that Roy has given reasons for Dick's departure - Lack of style in our play. I've seen nothing wrong with our style of play, and at the end of the day, lets get the basics right, before we try the fancy stuff. And by basics, I mean, get some stability at the club!

This is an unbelivable move by the County Directors - Sure every team wants to win with Panache but we just want to win. Let the Panache come when we have an established base. It was encouraging to see the results and momentum grow week on week - County were becoming reliable to produce a result (a draw is as good as a win in a league as tight asthe Scot. 2nd Div) But I suppose it doesn't matter to the Board as long as when we start losing that its done with Panache thats what this is all about and nothing else?????

Perhaps Dick Campbell was unable to provide the entertaining "panache" demanded in what looks like a severe change to his terms and conditions of employment, BUT he was under instructions to get the team promoted in just one season and was working well towards that goal.
Who in their right mind would want to work with a chairman like MacGregor? steam

Here we go again in Dingwall.
Who's running this club? the board or George Adams? Even Hearts are beginning to look like a more stable club than us!!
I can't help but feel that because Derek is being pushed out to right midfield and because Stewart Petrie is taking more coaching then i think son has asked dad to step in and help him. The fans are only going to be able to take this constant changes for so long. We need stability in Dingwall not panache. Only a few seasons ago we were talking about developing the stadium for the Premier league! we don't stand a chance if we keep changing the team & backroom staff. Look at Caley in Inverness - yes they've changed managers but they've kept almost the same eleven players for the last 5 seasons. We've probably gone through 5 times the amount of players they have. The Board need to get a grip of themselves and wake up to the real world. It's the 2nd division we're trying to get out of. Champions grind out results when they need to. Give me 1-0 every week and a championship rather than 5-4 and finish fourth. I wait with baited breath to see who the next victim will be in Dingwall. Away the County!!!!

JOKE descision by a JOKE club run by JOKERS! Never a great idea to sack your manager when your top of the league, just ask Hearts.....

Agree strongly that George and Derek Adams must leave. We do not need a Director of Football, especially one that gets rid of good managers and brings in the like of Scott Leitch! Sad to see Dick Campbell go, he had a good team put together and they were gelling very well, now we will probably have Derek Adams as manager who will follow Leitch and bring in some mates from Motherwell who are either past it or not good enough! I pray that the Board see sense now and get rid of the Adams family before we head back to the 3rd.

Panache - Is that not a ladies clothes shop in Beauly?

Looking for panache got us in this fine mess in the first place. Too much faffing about in the first division when the ball should have been booted to Falkirk. Not exciting, but its worked for QOS for long enough.

So whats happens now, we send 11 David Winter-esques to Airdire on a Wednesday ( or Saturday) night (or day), and hope they come away with more then their legs (or arms)?

If the club want to play with panache, why didnt it stay in the Highland League, where it may have got away with it and still won.

Come the end of the season who wants to say, "Well at least we played the best football" as our team finishes mid-table, and anyone with a hint of talent has left quicker than a "Jackie Shuffle". But dont worry, as come the transfer window, George will unveil his latest signings - Ryan, Bryan and Grizzly.

What other pearls of wisdom can we expect from the board - the unfreezing of Billy Ferries, the return of Barry Wilson?

Bet Gardiner Spiers is glad he's out of it!

This stinks of politics, only a fool sacks a manager when your top of the league. Will Adams resign if County fail to win promotion?
If you want entertainment you can go to the Eden court theatre, people want to see winners not pretty losers

NO, no, no. Cool it. You are better off without Campbell. RC will be back in the 1st Division next season without him, and there won't be players refusing to re-sign, players going awol and new signings jumping ship. He is the worst of all man-managers and while he is there you will sign no-one of talent.
