El Diego (U9861085) posted Oct 4, 2007 There may have been an element of truth in what Barton said, however any player with an ounce of humility would never publicly say such things. Can you imagine Zinedine Zidane proclaiming "it was all because of me and my volley that won Real Madrid the european cup"? If there is any justice he will be given a custodial sentence for his assault on Dabo.

bigf-wirral (U9891568) posted Oct 4, 2007 Barton's contribution as a holding/defensive midfielder was poor, frequently giving away stupid free kicks, he thought He was Gerrard in disguise, he had a fantastic opportunity to learn from Paul Bosvelt, but didn't take it. I agree we now need someone in that role, clever as Hamman is, he now lacks pace and bite, hopefully Sven can unearth a young Makelele, unfortunately Gelson needs a while yet to develop.

petercool123 (U10117668) posted Oct 22, 2007 It takes 11 players to make a team not 1 or 2,since bartons bust up at city and his move to newcastle and saying he did this and that for city,the truth is. if city put a bid in now for him to come back he would jump at the chance,city are a BIG CLUB and better just look were we are now,and we will get better man city are the true manchester all blue,every one now is looking at city.now we have got some one with money to spend and can buy players we are only just starting to prove people wrong,when you have money and a good manager you can turn things around,and city have done that.but i wish barton all the best.NOT.
