Tonga v Eng Score Predictions Chaps

Rugby world cup England

I am off to Paris tomorrow, so wont be able to focus on websites after midday.

Personally, as a die hard supporter, I think we will win 40-20 but would very much enjoy any other predictions. I really think the team has a good balance. Our dillusions of granduer have been replaced by a harsh reality check and the chaps know what they have to do. Play as a team - this is not about winning places in a prima donna style - this is about survival and pride.

We will win - but by how much?

If Tonga plays like they played vs. SA, they could beat England. On the other side England can beat Tonga "with his jersey".
This will be a very intresting match. For both it certainly is a matter of pride.
Champion vs. challenger
Tradition vs. hungry of glory

Tonga 23 Eng. 17

What's the weather like in Paris? It's throwing it down in London and chilly with it- not conditions for running rugby- which could be a factor in favour of England.

As a PS, on the substance of the issue, I'd expect England to know a bit too much for a side which (as other contributers have pointed out) don't actually have much experience of being anything other than plucky underdogs who entertain but in the end always go under against the big boys -I'll be interested to see how they'll play if they find themselves, say, 8 points up with fifteen minutes to go.

That said, refereeing will (as usual) be crucial and if England do contrive to lose I'm sure we'll be hearing a great deal more about Alain Rolland's alleged anti-English bias on these threads!

My understanding is that it's supposed to be pretty miserable in Paris tonight.

More English weather, than Tongan weather!

IMO it'll be a tight game but just like against the Samoans the score will be a bit glossy.
According to the commentator, the pitch is greasy so it'll be a simple game so it should suit us considering our current form winkeye
