Chelsea Player Ratings

Okay...so i watched the game...here are my player ratings:

Cech - 7 two good saves, one superb one from rooney. Maybe looked a bit shakey on corners but generally assured. Glad he at least is back.

Ferreira - 5.5 Average, didnt offer much going forward, and was okay defensively. Not as good as Beletti.

Terry - 7 Led the line well and made some good tackles. Has'nt looked as threating from offensive set pieces and seemed to leave tevez free for the first goal.

TBH - 6 Looked okay mainly, made one exellent tackle but is definatly second to Carvalho. I maintain he is more of a good reserve than good enough to start.

A.Cole - 7 Looked good going forward, generally tackled well, though a dive in the second half was unwelcome. Generally defended the left of defence well.

Makelele - 5.5 did'nt look his usual assured self, made some decent interceptions, but made several way ward passes and lost possession in dangerous areas. Maybe playing as part of a 10 man team in centre midfield was too far for his ageing legs.

Mikel - 5 Unfortunate to be sent off and was average up until that point.

Essien - 6 Not his usual self, in a game where the midfield needed some one to take a hold of it, essien didnt. He didnt join in enough going forward, but was soild enough.

Malouda - 6 Didnt offer too much going forward and lacked incisive passing. one or two nice turns but didnt deliver.

J.COle - 6.5 Played well enough in the first half but didnt offer much in the second. That said, he was one of the few bright attacking options in the first half.

Shevchenko - 5 Physically looked out of his depth, tactically, long balls didnt suit him and individually looked average at best. I want him to succed, but time seems to be runnign out.

Subs:

Kalou - 6 Didnt do much really, battled manfully and ran at players but got little joy.

Wright-Phillips - 5 Made no impact, though perhaps not his fault given some launched high balls. Did try and run at players but had little joy.

Pizarro - 7 the team looked much better when a half fit Pizarro came on. He held the ball up well and provided more of a physical presence. He linked up the midfield well and he at least looks like a good prospect.

Grant - 6 Lined up with 4-3-3 and the team looked solid if un threatening until Mikel was sent off. Maybe waited too long to introduce pizarro but the team looked okay, nothing more.

Lads, Westham fan in peace. There's no doubt you are a different team without Drogba and Lamps and that shouldn't be the case with SWP and J. Cole in your armoury. However, my missus says after the few years of looking at the Gillette profile of Jose. The Cheslea manager is now a tale of beauty and the beast....bring back the special one...

Significantly More Worl Cups than Giggs - last season, when you lost two (yes, that's all, TWO) of your first choice back 5, and we lost 4 of ours, we were told that it was incomaprable as our ethos was built around attacking football, and yours was around a solid defence. The only way we could compare was if we lost Ronny and Rooney. Now, this season, you've lost two attackers, and suddenly results are hard to come by again, and it's because of injuries to two key players. Now which is it? Are your two most important players attackers or defenders? Or can you just admit you don't have the squad to cope with injuries to ANY of your established first team players? Because you need a quality squad to win the league (which you had a few years ago). And whilst your first team is formidable, your back ups leave a lot to be desired.

"So nobody is goona answer my question no??"

I assumed it was rhetorical. due to being entirely hypothetical and impossible to answer accurately. But to attempt. We would have out thought, out fought and out played you whilst scoring a hatful of goals playing beautiful football the way it was meant to be played. And you can't say we definitely wouldn't cos it didn't happen. Stupid question.

What we do KNOW, though, is that when Chelsea lose two players you fall apart, fail to get one shot on target and lose 2-0. What we also KNOW is that when Utd lose their entire back 4, they can still win the league.

And i would be genuinely interested to know who you and other Chelsea fans think is more valuable to you (or more influential when absent if that makes sense!) - Terry and Cech, or Lampard and Drogba?

Personally, i feel it's Carvalho and Drogba, but to my knowledge they haven't been injured at the same time, so it's yet to be shown.

All this rubbish from chelsea has beens fasn is nonsense....Evra should have had a clear cut penalty in the 1st half(1-0),Mikel red card was very harsh but Joe Cole should have got red for his cowardly tackle on Ronaldo...also u had how many shots on goal??how much possession did we dominate, even before Mikels red card??the reality is you look very, very beatable and God knows do ur team moan...I mean Fergie has the odd little gripe after a game as did Mourinho but your players(particularly Cashley and Terry)whinge and moan like spoiled brats.....4th this year Im afraid!!!!

i like lampard but he won't be knocking in 20 plus goals this season...saying that he will solve all chelseas problems is unrealistic.

If we still had tevez and Saha, (which we would, because we have, as mentioned prevously, a good SQUAD), and you played like you have all season, then hell yes.

we would still have Tevez, Saha, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick, Nani, Hargreaves to pick from, and if one of them was stupid/unlucky enough (i don't think that particular challenge was worthy of a straight red) to get sent off, we still have the quality to at least get a shot on target. Which (and this isn't hypothetical any more, i hope you understand the significance of this) you couldn't. not one.

I would still be interested in your opinions on whether Chelsea's squad is good enough.

Just a few points for chelsea fans to consider before they moan on and on, Arsenal have had more pens at home then any other team this season(fact),you must have short memories in forgetting your pen against liverpool, least saha was touched, id say evens itself out would'nt you?, you spent £30 mil on Shevchenko a 30yo who cant run, when torres cost the same, you've bought in Ben Haim who is average at best, Sidwell Good player in an average team, Obi Mikel Who lets be honest has done nothing out of this world, you've sold robben who was better then anything you've bought in, Sold Gallas!play a different system 4-4-2 mainly last season, instead of 4-3-3 which won you the league twice. Without Lampards goals from midfield, and drogba i think most teams would have beat you at the w/end, drogba can at least move, lets face it United were up for it and You couldnt get a shot on target, regardless of what else happend in the game, you aint gonna win if you can't score, last 3 games 2-0,0-0,2-0 and 1-1 in europe to add to that, and we(united)were winning games without ronaldo, rooney, saha etc....what more needs to be said about our squad? Wait till we hit top gear
