So in the end it is India and Pakistan the arch rivals who will meet in the finals.One has to say that both of them deserve to be in the finals as they have played great cricket and I hope it will be a exciting final. As far as the tournament in general is concerned it has been great to watch what with Zimb team upsetting the apple-cart by defeating the Aussies then that unforgettable bowl out which decided who will win the match between Pak and Ind in the group stages or for the matter the semifinal match between the Aussies and the Indians etc and I for one really enjoyed the tournament.There have been some outstanding individual performances like Lee's hat trick, Morkel's big hitting but the one who stole the show was without doubt Yuvi as he played a breathtaking innings against England by hitting those six sixes in a over which was just unbelievable.

Finally I wanted to ask what do all of you think about this 20/20 WC? I thought it has been exciting and this format is here to stay.

what was Misbah thinking? 3 balls to get 6 runs and he does THAT.

T20 is definitely here to stay!! Fantastic entertainment all around! A world event with all the teams has definitely added variety and spice to the competition. Having said that, one wonders if a bilateral T20 series would be received with such fanfare.

ICC please do away with the Champions Trophy and stage the World T20 every two years. Personally, Test cricket is still my favorite and now T20 takes precedence over the 50 over format. ale

========================

You sure are entitled to your own opinion......but I personally fail to understand a format that takes 5 days and over 60% of them result in a draw, what's the point. And before someone starts talking about technique, at the end of the day all the technique in the world is essentially to score runs while not throwing away your wicket. 20/20 seems pretty decent where we have seen quite a few all-outs within the 20 overs and good runs at the same time.

to be honest, I think all this talk of technique is a little unfair. First of all 2020 is in it's infancy and techniques and attacking tactics have yet to be explored. Bowlers have a massive scope for refining technique as variation and reading a batsmans mentality and technique become essential.

Plus, everyone is going on about how you need to think quicker, adapt faster in twenty20, surely you can't hold that a format that allows half an hour to decide on a tactical approach requires a far larger techinical grasp.

Tests have fallen short this year, both the one v the windies and india were a bit rubbish. one dayers saved face a little thanks to an exciting friends provident trophy and the series v india. One could argue that test cricket is no more than a combination of twenty20 and the other national passtime: waiting for a bus.

at last cricket has found a format that really excites the non-cricketing fan (i.e. me!) Excellent tournament and a fitting final. Well done India and Pakistan.
