Johnston STARTS AGAIN????Premier League Everton by EFC-09999 (U9277956) 23 September 2007 Why did Moyes choose to start Johnston again? I admit hes a decent player and has potential to be an Everton great... BUT... at the moment hes NOT scoring and NOT playing well... Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

AndyKingFrom30Yards (U9743347) posted Sep 23, 2007 I think you are all missing the point here. AJ, Yak, Jimmy, Victor who plays is of little importance when your midfield playmaker is one half of the chuckle brothers. Phil Neville works hard shows great committment but unfortunatley has no passing ability at all and is infact only second to Hibbert as the worse distributer of the ball in the team. Play him at right back that achieves two things, gets him out of harms way in the middle and gets rid of Hibbert who every team in the premiership recognise as a weak link and exploit every week. We need creativity and when Tommy G and Mikel come back we will be transformed. Keep Jag as the midfield ball winner he is better than Neville and has more passing ability.

babyBlueboy4ever (U9290332) posted Sep 23, 2007 Mcfadden?!?! He may be good for scotland but i can assure you as an everton fan he is far from good when in the colours of everton. I am sure he has ample talent but for whatever reason does not show it when playing for us. I for one would not lose any sleep if he never played for us again. I know he tries but it is frustrating when lots of people tell you he has talent but time after time fails to deliver when given a chance. He had that chance on Thursday against Metalist but to ended up one of the worst players on the pitch. If he has so much talent should have eaten the Metalist players up. All he tried to do when he got the ball was cut inside for the spectacular shot and everytime the Metalist players just took the ball off him like he was a third rate player.

fabbluey123 (U9745629) posted Sep 24, 2007 I think this comment makes the most sense I've heard in a long time! I was at the match yesterday and was thoroughly disappointed by the lacklustre performance. I waited at the3 the players exit at the end of the match and saw just how small we were and how massive the Villa players were. No wonder we couldn't win a challenge!

wabisabi (U2595000) posted Sep 24, 2007 Yes. Totally agree. Neville should be at right back, he's far more effective there all round. During his few starts in that position he's made good runs forward and crosses well. I seem to recall that we've even netted a few from his deliveries out of that position. This addresses to some degree our biggest problem - delivery to the forwards. It's been a problem for ages now and perhaps is why so many forwards fail at Everton. Hibbert should at best keep the bench warm with Carsley. I hope you're right and the team shapes up again with the return of Grav and Arteta. Otherwise it's going to be a long season!.. or a very short one Europe-wise Comment on this article
