Who can win the Twenty20 WC?

Twenty20 Australia

Just 4 days of Twenty20 world cup cricket left and there are no serious favorite's for the title. Lets look at the contenders, from most likely to win to most unlikely to win.

South Africa - Still not guaranteed a place in semis. Need to win againstNZ to seal their place. Looking the best bet of all.

New Zealand - Like South Africa, not yet guaranteed. If they lose to SA today. Must hope India doe not win their next 2 matches by comprehensive margin. Otherwise a good unit.

Pakistan - Only team to be guaranteed to play in semis. Not sure if they can win day in and day out. They might faulter in high pressure matches.

Australia/Sri Lanka - Both these teams have the same amount of chances. They are very similar in batting and bowling. Sadly only 1 team can make it to semis. Aussies will miss Ponting's captaincy.

India - Can still go thru if they beat NZ and South Africa. But sadly this team lacks the killer instinct to be victorous in 20/20.

England - Tall order. First they need to beat India by a huge margin and hope NZ beats SA by a huge margin and then hope India beat SA by a huge margin. Lets talk about their chances, when these unlikely senarios happen. Keep dreaming ENGLAND

to be fair pakistan haven't blown hot or cold in this tournament, they have been amazingly consistent, all the bowlers have been performing and the middle order looks better than ever, but the top order problem still remains. so all in all a consistent side this time around.

If anything it's australia who have blown hot and cold, first losing to zimbabwe, then thrashing england, then losing to Pakistan, then thrashing bangladesh.

You are spot on unknown entity. Australia have lost two games, and one is an all time classic to Zimbabwe. This tournament may be forgotten from peoples memories after a few years but that Zimbabwe loss will always be spoken about in the circles. Well done Zimbabwe, you gave us something memorable in this tournament.

The two teams who have impressed me so far have been South Africa & Pakistan who have adapted well to this form of cricket. Australia have been awesome when chasing targets so in my opinion the winner will come from one of those three teams.
