Australia vs Pakistan

Twenty20 Pakistan

Pakistan pulled off an inspiring win against a dangerous SL side the other day. However, as many people are aware, they are inconsistent and unpredictable. No doubt, their strength is in their bowling and if they bowl first, they can make use of what appears to be good assistance from the pitch early on. On the other hand the batting is weak and can crumble chasing modest totals.

The Aussies have had the upper hand against Pakistan of late and will look to thrash them and make them look ordinary. The decisive factor will be if Australia can make a mockery of Asif and co.

of course Baretta, I think Oz comes back fighting, Ponting or no Ponting..still a class team, someone will stand up. it just throws the whole tournament wide open and thats a good thing. the Aussies are the best ODI team and test, but haven't proven that in 20/20, so there is no need to giv'm all the accolates. if you know what I mean!

I have to say I'm usually a sucker for either the underdogs - just scraping a close victory - or a dominant, aggressive performance with some outstanding individual batting performances, as often achieved by the Ozzies, in the ODI's and Tests.

But you're certainly right that the Ozzies have not yet earned any birthright to the twenty20 format title and on reflection, it would be rather predictable (and tiresome) if the Ozzies were to scoop this one aswell, regardless of the manner of their victory.

So I guess I'll let you know who i've opted for when we reach the final!!

Quote ok But they are capable of rebounding anywhere, anytime.

I'm a bit off on the points status and mathematics involved...are they out of it or are they in with a chance?

SB, The Kangaroos are still very much in contention. After two matches each, Pakistan has 4 pts, and Aus and SL have 2 pts each.

Winner of the SL vs AUS match on Thu will be second qualifier into the semis from this group.

It's nice to see someone challanging the Ausie dominance and with Pakistan you never know, they can beat anyone on their day and mind you this time it's two days in a row...first Sri Lanka and then Australia...

Pakistan always owed it to the Great Bob Wolmer after the world cup.

Well Done, Jeff Lawson & Pakistan

nice to see pakistan play like this way i believe if they play like they did against ausie they will get 20/20 world cup and will become world favourite team on the place of ausie. i think that pakistan got power in their bowling not in bating but still they got some good bastman like malik and afridi

wish good luck to pakistan

awais, don't feel sorry for shoaib, lately his behaviour is out of control...slapping a team mate around is not on. and shaoib should watch what pills he's taking. yes, out of control behaviour is an indication, that not all is kosher with him!
and by the way..in the last 2 years his bowling has been a fluke!!
