I've just seen news that Olly Barkley and Wilkinson may miss the SA match. If that is so who should we play at Number 10. Perhaps move Catt across? Your Thoughts please.

Tait and Hipkiss are both ill, struck down by some mystery illness. Don't know how serious it actually is yet, but it's sufficiently serious for them to be in isolation, which suggests it's not something pleasant.

IT'S A NO BRAINER, IT'S GOT TO BE FARREL AT 10.
I KNEW THAT AS SOON AS I SAW OLLY WAS CROCKED.
FARREL WILL NOT LET ANYONE DOWN, HE'S EXPERIENCED, A SUPERB BALL HANDLER AND DEFENDER. IT'S NOT A NEGATIVE SELECTION IF HE GETS THE LIKES OF REES AND EASTER RUNNING OFF HIM WITH CATT CONTROLLING THE KICKING GAME IT'S A WIN FOR THE RED ROSE. JUST HAVE TO STOP hABBANA GETTING THE BALL. EASY PEASY REALLY

I cant believe we are less than one wwek into the rugby world cup which we have we all waited for and already we are in a state of crisis. Perhaps the injuries and suspensions are part of BA's master plan?.Perhaps not.

bigmukka, why don't you slow yourself down and think realistically!! Catt at 10, is our only option really, fly out Hodgson as a precaution. If we have anymore bad luck at the No.10 position, then Farrell will have to fill in. In the mean time, we can all pray that Jonny will be fit at some point this World Cup!! Tait and Hipkiss would be nice to!! It's like England have been jinxed ever since 22nd Nov 2003!!

Just don't bring out Uncle Fester. He will choke against the Big Boys. I bet Jonny will be OK.

why does everyone keep banging on about Faz's lack of pace?
10s and 12s do not need to have pace.
Catt is one of the best 12's in the Prem and he's not got pace. Tindall didn't have pace, DeGlanville didn't have pace, Carling didn't have pace.
10s and 12s need awareness, a good pass off each hand and good kicking skills.

The 13 however, does need pace. So scratch Noon and put in Tait, Hipkiss or even Lewsey.

My vote would be for Faz at 10 as Catt would be a big target for the SA back row.

Over the past 12 months, I have seen 5 young backs who have the ability to put English Rugby back on track, Tait, Strettle, Sackey, Hipkiss and Geraghty..sadly Strettle is injured, but Geraghty should have gone to the World Cup, and with injuries to Wilkinson and Berkley would have been an obvious replacement at fly half..why cant Ashton see that if we had the the likes of Sackey, Tait, Geraghty, Lewsey, Hipkiss in the line up, we would have some "pace"...Farrell, Catt are old men and too slow and Robinson has said this is his swan song.....lets give youth a chance!

In addition to both fly-halves, Hipkiss and Tait are out injured, too.

Tait has a stomach bug of some sort and I think Hipkiss has enflamed tonsils, or something.
