Alonso clearly has an edge over Hamilton

this weekend. He was 3 tenths quicker in Q2. Hamilton has a big battle on his hands to hold off the charging Alonso. I think Alonso will win the championship by two points. The last 5 races will be a test of Hamilton's bottle. We all know that Alonso has the bottle over the closing stages of a championship under intense pressure - Last year Alonso didn't make a single mistake and drove brilliantly to hold off Schumacher and Ferrari. Alonso usually gets all his mistakes out of the way in the early stages of the season.

"hamilton won't pass alonso, unless he do a dirty trick."

alonso4ever, thinking with your heart as usual, pray tell what trick will Hamilton pull to get in front of Alonso? I know, half way through the race a helicopter will appear out of no where, winch Hamilton's car up and fly him half a lap ahead of Alonso, then set Hamilton down as the race leader, happy now!

I think Hammi Hamilton is cracking up. The rookie cannot stand the pressure and Alonso is filled heavier than Snitch Hamilton. Go Alonso Go! (Shame it wont matter, after McLaren is kicked out though).

I think this time Ron has decided to give equal standard to their drivers. Alonso has been the quickest so far and outpace his teammate. Unless things go wrong (accident, mechanical failure) Alonso will fly away from the start leaving the rest to battle at the first narrow chicane and take a confortable advantage before the first pitstop. I think Alonso will win.
However like someone saidabove all this will be in vain come next Thursday. I hope not.

It will be a Mclaren 1-2 finish, Alonso will on Thursday be invited to a deep conversation with the Italian police, Mclaren will get another wrist slap and the season will trundle on. If Lewis gets even the slightest sniff off the start he will lead at the end of the first lap. Heidfeld could be a nusiance, but more to Alonso who will be defending from Heidi and Lewis. Ferrari's will not be contenders.

Guys,
The White Powder around Ferrari fuel flap...could it have been a performance enhancing additive? Is this why Ferrari went on the OFFENSIVE with Stepney to discredit him completely. After all this is the team that was running a flexi floor against the spirit of the regulations.
Is ascertaing the use of Mass Dampers quite simple or you would need to have 'spied'to ascertain?

I for one cannot see a situation where the two leading drivers in the Formula 1 one world championship have points deducted, could you imagine? It would make the whole season pointless and that would not be in the interest of Bernie Ecclestone and all those with a financial interest in F1. F1 more than any other sport is dictated by sponsorship it is the life blood of the sport.

If this situation had arisen with two mid table teams would we be seeing a different reaction?

I think the championship will go to the wire and I would hate to make a guess. My head says Alonso but my heart wants Hamilton.

I hope Button has a good race.

I personally feel that Alonso will be off to another team after next season, Toyota or BMW and I would love to see Jenson Button at one of the top teams.

"also, hamilton won't pass alonso, unless he do a dirty trick"

Alonso won. Hamilton did not need a "dirty" trick, Alonso needed it. He was light, and he played the pitstiop game, and Hamilton got orders to drop anchors.

I watch different TV xhannels to get unbiased views. The commentators were outspoken.

And in case you saw only part of the TV broadcast/or of the race, you will have missed Hamilton's "dirty" gutsy overtaking of Kimi.

I had hoped either Kimi or Lewis would have won.
Kimi had a dog of a car, so that left Lewis; but he had that strange pitstop, and despite charging past Kimi, suddenly slowed down. Interesting, no?
