Now that the dust has settled, would you consider DOL back as our manager one day? After all, we know that the manager asks the chairman for a player and then HE must decide if he has the money to buy him or not.
Never forget- we were one game from the Champions League Final-not many Premiership teams can say that can they.Or was it all a dream that turned into a mare!

Hmm, thanks Ellisbhoy, although the opinion of someone who claims to support a good team to compensate for the cr@p team they really support is not going to be taken very seriously around here.

Oleary was lucky in that he inherited the seeds of George Graham's reign and the kids coming through
Admittedly he played them and did well
But his buys, attitude to the Press inc YEP and his book and later management of the dressing room were at best misguided at worst deluded
The guy is happier in the boardroom, massaging his ego than on the training ground
And let's not forget bringing B Kidd in over Eddie..

We have to stop looking back at past glories and managers. Marching on together - forwards not backwards!

Wilko and Eddie sewed the seeds with the youth setup. Graham tightened up the leaky defence before running back south. DOL had the courage to play the youth. Problem was he kept on about 'my babies'.

Then when things went wrong, mainly the court case, he seemed to lose the players confidence. Who knows maybe he should have dropped those involved in the case for the duration of the case, and awaited the result.

As for the so-called bad decisions he made when buying players, no one argued at the time he bought them, (well most of them). And he didn't negotiate the contracts. That was down to Ridsdale and the board. They could, and should have said 'sorry David, these guys are asking too much, look somewhere else'. But like ALL of us at the time they were 'living the dream' and agreed to any demands. Classic case when Johnson and his agent seemed suprised at the weekly wages offered, (amazed the the high amount), Ridsdale nearly doubled the offer, just to get what DOL wanted. You can't blame the players for taking what was offered to them. And you can't blame those players who left and we kept paying. Again blame the people who agreed to (or maybe even suggested?) the contracts.

So in my eyes DOL may be able to talent spot some good players, but not sure about any other aspect of his record, so no I'd rather we go forward not backward.

Lets ALL get behind Dennis and Gus, and for those of you able to get there on Saturday, sing your hearts out, scare the socks off of Hartlepool, and be the 13th, 14th.... 30,000th man on the team.

MOT to 0 points and onwards.
