Keep ur eyes on my boy "Joko".... blink n u will miss the action. He s the player to watch. He plays like an arsenal midfielder! He is on a mission. I think he will be stationed across the net from Roger 2moro! And any1 for RESPECT for Davydenko (ok he might lack a sense of dressing, but lets face it, the guy is a good tennis player)!

i think many people are overrating novac. even pete sampras also made a mistake by saying that safin would one day rule the tennis.u just cant say by 1 or 2 years perfomence or by his talent.same thing happened to hewitt.

I have a feeling it is something a bit more serious as he usually struggles to breathe right from the first couple of points. He then appears to become fatigued very rapidly. Perhaps that is why he always seem to be in discomfort and calling for the trainer.

Agreed, Djokovic has enormous talent. Don't underestimate Ferrer, he will run him ragged, he's more experienced and his game has improved out of sight. If he wins this one, it will be an exhausted Djokovic in the final.

If Djokovic plays Federer in the final then I would give the edge to Djokovic. He is booming with confidence and can really rip the ball off both wings. If he plays Fed the way he played in Canada it could be a four or five set win for Djokovic. The Nadal Djokovic era has began and I give Federer one more year before his era ends.

gsotennfan1,
You must be a clairvoyant or something.Nadal will burn out sooner or later, his game is far too physical.Djokovic, tough talented, hasn't proved yet what he is capable of in a GS final.Wait and see...

I'd still lay my money on Federer to win it all, but assuming both he and Djoko do get through to the final, it has the makings of a very tasty match-up.

I don't know enough about Ferrer to say whether he'll pose a stern test for Djoko, but I am confident that Federer will beat Davydenko handily. We can but wait and see.

Despite being a huge fan of Federer, I make Davydenko favourite for the Ch'ship right now. He is an amazing tennis player; the only thing missing from his game is the confidence and belief that he can kill the giants. He was unlucky not to beat Federer at RG.

RIght there you said it, "His Confidence is missing." YOu can't be a top player lacking confidence. That is like 80% of the battle. Why do you think Fede and Nadal keep winning so much?

Any time a non confidence player plays someone like Nadal or FEde they are two notches down before the first serve.
Borg played plenty of great players with much more power, bigger serve, faster and stronger, yet he beat them all. Why, his confidence level was the highest, sharpest and strongest in the game. He could be playing with bees flying all over the court and he would tuned all of that out and play as if all was perfect. His mind was clear and his vision was straight into the tunnel. That is how you get to the top and stay there.

Davydenko loses in straight sets, despite breaking Federer three times in the third set....
laugh
I wonder if Davydenko will EVER beat Federer!

You know, I think he just might if Federer plays as poorly as he did in parts of that final.

Djoko is one to watch. Shocking let down when he failed to convert any of those set points, to be sure. To me that only underscores Federer's extreme quality. If Djoko can raise his "mental" game another notch and convert his chances, we could see some very interesting matches on hard courts.
