I can't believe that this is actually going to happen. My lifelong hero is going to retire from ODIs. I wish him the best and hope he does a fine job for india in Tests...

I would rate his career: 5 Stars!

Has Sachin announced his retirement from ODIs? If so, the timing is good.

It will indeed be the passing of an era when he goes. But as you say, perfect timing, just as he displayed today.

Sachin bhai - thank you for 18 yrs of entertainment

I think that it is perfect timing, had he gone out after the world cup it would have been a shame following our obismal performances. He has shown he still has it despite all the critiscm - he has been crucial to our success on this tour. Just wish he made a 100. Well there is one more chance at Lords on sat and i will be there to see it.

Glad he is still playing test matches as he can help groom the next generation and still make very valuable contributions like he has done on this tour.

Thank God!
Media wanted to have a melodramatic soap opera retirement--so they spread the rumour about Sachin.

Retire now?....ha ha ha

I love Sachin not only for his class but for his tremendous sense of maturity in handling pressure and his own ups and downs. Media has always written his obituary when he does not score two fifties in row..But then that is their business. Cricket wont be same when he wont be around the same. We still miss Sir Viv and Laras of the world..sadface
