I find it funny how Carter is rated so highly. He's good, but a weak little man that bends under pressure like few others can. I have said it before, and I'll say it again. Carter will cost NZ the WC. He doesn't have much BMT. On fly half I'd rate Wilkinson as no1 for sure, maybe O'Gara. I'd also not split Bakkies and Victor. Part of the reason they are the best second row in the world is the fact that they play very well together. Burger can play 8th man yes, but he doesn't really have the strength you want an 8th man to have. (AFAIK he has the weakest upper body of the entire bok team)

Sheridan at 1 is rubbish. Hayman will twist him and hurt him. A lot of these posts must be from football fans, Chabal has never played 6 in his life, he is however a world class 8, ask Ali Williams. Also Solialo has never been and will never be the best 8 in the world. I like peoples optimisim saying D Wallace at 7 he is a class but there is no better 7 than McCaw although he has flaws, saying Betsen is rot. Anyhow it is hard to pick a 15 but

1.Woodcock/Du Rant
2.Smit / Ibanez
3.Hayman
4.Jack/Botha
5.O'Connell
6.Burger/Jason White
7.McCaw
8.Chabal
9.Gregan ( may be gettin on but how do you argue with over 100 international caps/Kelleher
10.Carter
11.Habana
12.D'Arcy
13.O'Driscoll
14.Rocokoko/Horgan
15.Lewsey/Hernandez

Everyone is selecting Habana, preumably on the basis of his electric pace, but he's not an out and out finisher. Seems to thrive off mistakes and turnover ball, rather than phased attacking play.
I think Robinson is as good as you get - just not had that much service in the England backs division.

IRELAND4RWC07 - You talk as if you're the oracle on all things rugby related and then you go and put Horgan as 2nd choice right wing!!

Horgan?!?

--------------------

I reckon that might be because they don't think he's the best 15 in the world.

"I find it funny how Carter is rated so highly. He's good, but a weak little man that bends under pressure like few others can."

Just like he did on the lions tour, yeah?!

DannyboyMU, I pretty much agree with your XV. As much as I like DArcy, I'd also pick Jauzion. I'd have O'Connell in there with Matfield. I wouldn't have your NZ back row, I'd ave McCaw and Burger as flankers, and I'm quite surprised that nobody has chosen spies at 8. I'd have Dwayne Peel at 9.

D'Arcy over Jauzion for me.
Dan Carter's all round game makes him the perfect 10. ROG can't tackle at all, the Wilko of 4 years ago would be up there but seriously, has he done anything of note since except for a good performance against a rubbish Scots team in this year's 6N (AT HOME). For me Contepomi is the best 10 that makes his living in the UK & Ireland. ROG may be a bit better offensively, but Felipe's defence is way better than ROGs.
