Miller is out of both games!! So Boyd and O'Conner for Lithuania and perhaps O'Conner as sole striker for France?

Barry Robson should be getting a game for Scotland, his free-kick at the weekend is exactly what we need, when he came on against South Africa he looked sharp and injected some much needed driving force from midfield, I'd like to see him and Scott Brown in the middle for the Lith game.

This is what I want for the France Game......Gordon
Hutton...Weir...McManus...Mcevely

Hartley..Fergie..Brown..McCulloch..

Maloney

O'Connor

I think it is pretty much a definite that Maloney won't play though and Caldwell will get the sitting role. Since Dailly has been out the squad it has been his, I think Eck reckons he can tackle and he has better distribution than the other CB's.

We will miss Kenny Miller for the Fance game though- really miss him.

I personally don't think we will miss miller. If I had one chance in the whole france game (like we did practically at hampden!) where a striker was one on one with the keeper I would choose McFadden, O'Connor, Boyd and then Miller in that order for who I would like to be on the ball. McFadden is excellent in front of goal and O'Connor looks like a real quality player these days. Miller for me is always going to be 2nd class behind those two.

Against france we will lose if we try and hold it together at the back. Gordon may have come from god himself but even he can't save us against France and the pathetic pace of our defence will be exposed. We will need flair players like mcfadden to create chances or maloney to get that one freekick in the net and to keep the french backed up.

Well, at least now that Anderson is injured Scotland have an excuse to not play the best defender in Scotland for the last 3 seasons.

Think we need to give Frace something different to cope with and that means MCulloch on the left. He is something they won't have come up against before, because he did nothing at Hampden. But if he plays well that, and the freekicks of Maloney or McFadden are our main chance of scoring. Also bringing Boyd on at the end if needs be.

I would line up,

Gordon

Hutton Weir McManus McEverley

Maloney Brown Ferguson Fletcher McCulloch

O'Connor

McFadden and Boyd subs should we need a goal, Caldwell to come on if we have something to protect in the second half.

Of course this all depends on how these players play against Lithuania on Saturday.

Why is it that the BBC and others are interviewing McEverley about Scotland’s chances? He has not yet played in any qualifying game yet, only one friendly.

Is it because he has a scouse accent or am I just being cynical. If they want to interview someone why don't they interview one of our many key players such as Ferguson, Fletcher, Brown or Gordon the best keeper in Britain?

I.M.O. the Grandparent rule should be scrapped. We would have lost McEverley but gained McGeady.

THIS is how it is....for Lithuania we need to go and win, they won't come out and leave us spaces. Boyd, McFadden and O'Connor need to start. Hutton and McEveley as attacking full backs. Brown and Fletcher in the centre.
