press are not to blame. fact is england have a squad of enough quality to be one of the best teams in the world. its the players and management who have underperformed

Yes it's outright wrong to have a non English in a squad, but if u say it affects the team then thats not right.England have big name players that are fit,enough of them.Footbal is wait for your time.. if walcott if great he would break in the starting 11,like SWP now, he waited for his time.I would take a DEFOE TO THE WORLD CUP THAN A WALCOTT when i have an unfit ROONEY playing.Bad choice,bad thinking, i thought ur FA was suppose to go through the final list.

I for one will be glad when next Saturday comes along. Then all the England fans who are bricking themselves and complaining about McLaren, the players, foriegners and just about anything will finally be able to go back to talking about real football, i.e. league games. I have never heard such negative hype and panic over two games in which England should be certs to win. Both at home and both against weak opposition. Why so much worrying? Also, England are currently fourth in their group so if they don't qualify that's because the damage has already been done. Not because of the next two games.

The press has their big share, infact the biggest share of the blame
cos they hype English players so so much and criticise them again when
they are doing badly. CAN A MAN GIVE U WHAT HE DOESN'T HAVE??
You u place someone where he's not, he accepts it and play
go trying to impress u and later he begin to show u he's not
up to that level and u blame him again.England only have a world class
player that i think can play in any team now. Owen is another big name in England but failed in spain
the only world class in England is GENE-RALD..
The few that can contend for a top class are Hargreave and rooney
for rooney only bcos he's qucik and strong but lack finsihing.
but to the English these are world class.Without C.RONALD
Rooney could not give man u the title.. he could have done it
but didnt.They had to wait for 4 yrs for C.RONALD to settle in.
call a spade a spade most players in England are hypes mainly
bcos they have good press that can make u and the EPL is most watched now

The crop of players we have currently in the squad for Israel we should win. We know what they can do, and such playability can win any game, only thing is they do not produce it for country. That's the problem McLaren needs to get around. Finding Robinson in questionable form is also peculiar, considering how he came to be England's no.1, that needs to be addressed.

We dont need Gerrard with injections, that is the message that should be coming out instead of this desperate plea from the camp. Barry can come in if Hargreaves is a doubt, we have other players who can fill in, leave Gerrard until Wednesday.

Having said that, the England players play with foreign colleagues and still remain in the first team. If they can do it, no reason why the up-n-coming talent cannot rise in such a manner themselves. I can see why Owen was desperate to get first-team action, he would probably disappear along with his form.

England want to start sharp from the break and score within the first 10mins, then a second within the next 7-8mins after, where that would actually settle the score on any debate, and that within the match.

I can honstly see tomorrow being a waste of time, we'll win(thank god) probably by 2 goals and the press will kick into over drive in praising our brave heroes(sarcasm), then on wednesday we draw or lose and back to the drawing board and the brave heroes are useless again.

Whats the bet if we lose on sat that Mclown brings up injuries as an excuse and even says "Gerrard wasn't fully fit thats why we lost". We need a new manager, a new F.A and more importantly, some technically competent players, like the continents best and brightest, I mean when was the last time you looked in the premiership at some of our English players and thought "wow they're so comfortable on the ball" yes the Gerrards and Lampards are, but they've no idea about how to slow down play or control the tempo of a game.

Someone else has said about Micah Richards commenting on his football experiences.......I'm shocked, he's played one full season and part of this as his experience. Gerrard, Lampard and A.Cole have all published books in the last 2 years, it's a farce. They should concentrate on their jobs, not publicity for their next Ok magazine cover.

(1) So as you agree, we deserved to beat Portugal. So your comparison with Spain, as though we had done much worse (when we did clearly better) was stupid.

(2) They could have scored more than 1. How many more, one more? We had a couple of chances too. Like I said, so what?

(3) You are wrong about Germany's first XI. Gomez was missing but he is still pretty much a new boy for Germany. The same is so for many of the other players you mention. As for Pander, I am saying (a) it was a fluke (hence the mention that he is a defender) and (b) yes, an international keeper for a top team should have saved it, which does not mean it was a BAD shot. Hiddink incidentally agrees with me, according to the BBC, that Germany scored two lucky goals and that England played vastly better and deserved to win. That some bulletin-board whacko disagrees with me is a misfortune I can bear, when I find agreement coming from a man who knew enough about football to take South Korea to the World Cup semis.

The team the Germans arrived with was basically first in the positions of-GK,RB,CB,CB,RW and Lahm playing holding role when he is a full back. Missing players included- captain Michael Ballack, forwards Mario Gomez, Lukas Podolski and Jan Schlaudraff, midfielders Torsten Frings and Tim Borowski and full-backs Marcell Jansen and Clemens Fritz.

And in addition, Miroslav Klose, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira all pulled out after Saturday’s German league matches.
Now considering our injuries not really the same is it, also considering the point you made of the Germans playing badly, yea and we still didn't win...why??
Also my memory tells me when England chased the game, Germany hit us on the break, infact Kuranyi was played in and tried to lob Robbo and miss hit 1 on 1. They had more chances than you give them credit, like us against Portugal they played parasite football.
