Murali is outTwenty20 Sri Lanka by Rhodsey2333 (U9531297) 30 August 2007 Just heard that Murali is out for the twenty20 world cup, sad news that. That really dents Sri Lanka's chances, Murali is so hard to play against, especially when you try to score runs faster. Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

theroos (U3295355) posted Aug 30, 2007 Murali absence is not a big deal. I dont think he would have done that well anyway. The key for us is the accuracy and consistency of our pace bowlers and ability to get runs fast. I would say Aus to win this, with maybe SA finalists. SL maybe semis but not winners. We need to focus on our ODI and test game. This is where our strategy for success needs to be.

DaWatfordBoy (U3974967) posted Aug 30, 2007 Srilanka has only played 3 Twenty 20's so far, and they do not have enough exposure to the format which I reckon could be a blessing in disguise. Srilanka's playing style, and attitude definitely suits this type of game, and Murali's absence will not impact them too much, as I am sure with their agile fielding backed up by entertaining but vigorous batting will take them far. I predict another Srilanka Vs. Australia final, and this time Srilanka to successfully avenge their world cup final defeat to the Aussies.

CavYorkshire (U8186533) posted Aug 31, 2007 KandyK, SL arenot a one man team, you are correct, although in test matches they do rely on Murali a lot more than in ODI's. DWB As i have stated previously, i am of the opinion that australia will win this and beat SL in the final. If it is an SL Aus final though, i hope i'm wrong, its about time someone else won something!

theroos (U3295355) posted Aug 31, 2007 Possibly, Murali has taken a lot of wicket. Mainly because our bowling attack has been very inconsistent wrt test cricket. Then again Australia have relied on Warney and Mcgrath for a long time to take wickets in test cricket.

awkwardBounce (U8557184) posted Sep 5, 2007 Murali himself has announced his unwillingness to participate this past forward format of cricket. But SLC and captain (Mahela) forced him to do that and included him in to the 22/20 squad saying every contracted player must participate every international tournament. So I think
