Rugby world cup
comment on the article

Ground: Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, EH12 5PJ, Scotland
Capacity: 67,500
Matches: Scotland v Romania (Tuesday 18 September - 1700 BST)
Scotland v New Zealand (Sunday 23 September - 1600 BST)

Every August, Edinburgh attracts thousands of arts fans from across the world for the famous festival - but this September, it is rugby fans who will be descending on the city in their droves for the World Cup.

New Zealand's visit to Murrayfield in particular is sure to pull a crowd, so we want your help in compiling the ultimate fans' guide to the city.

If you're a local or a frequent visitor, we want your suggestions for places to go to make the most of your trip to the city known as "auld Reekie".

Where are the best pre-match watering holes? After the match, where is the best place near the ground for food? And away from the rugby, what are the other highlights you would recommend for visitors to make the most of their trip to the Scottish capital?

Your suggestions please.....

Milnes on Rose Street does a great All Day Breakfast and serves from 10am (not that anyone would condone drinking so early in the day whistle

Get yourself to the Burke 7 Hare off Lothian Road, bit steep for a beer but the entertainment is second to none.

The bars around the ground get pretty crowded on matchdays. If you're heading from town, the Haymarket or Ryries are both next to Haymarket station and usually get a good rugby crowd in, with the stadium about 15 minutes walk away.

It was a dissppointment and it serves them right that they had a half empty stadium again. The fact that the Scottish Rugby Union held back the majority of the tickets for a long time could be one of the major reasons for the poor attendance.

I guess on Sunday it will be a different story, however I had to pay almost £ 200 for the tickets and had to buy it from the French ticket office and now there are rumours that Scotland will play their second team. This will be very unfair and might even turn die hard rugby supporters like myself away for good. sadface
