It wouldn't surprise me if Ballack ended up in Spain, most likely Real Madrid. They have been showing interest all summer and have already spent £80m this summer, so another £20m in January is nothing.

A few things I need to tell you.

Gerrard never handed in an official transfer request. (Talking to the board about leaving is not the same thing). Gerrard did not support everton as a boy. This is a misconception.

Steve Finnan is the most consistent RB in the prem over the last 3 years.

I dont agree that Rio is the best CB in the prem. I also dont agree that hes rubbish. If he was, SAF would put up with him. He a top class CB. (Note I am a Liverpool fan) Also from watching Carra for years he only makes last ditch tackles when its truly needed. His tackling is tough not last ditch. His reading is superb. As for Agger he is a very technically gifted CB. He brings the ball forward as much a Rio. No pool fan complains bout him. Guess why? Plus if anyone here watched Alan Hansen play for Liverpool I think they'd note how much brought the ball forward too. You make excellent points bout defending. Dont get drawn into a slanging match bout it though.

fireireanach: so when my nephew, used to play schoolboy football against him in an Everton kit, he was wearing it for the fun of it eh. and the pictures of Gerrard on "when skys are grey" and Bluekipper.com of Gerrard in the Park end at a non derby match are fakes obviously. Like many a former Liverpool player they have grown up an Everton Fan but change their loyalty when taken into the Liverpool Academy. Owen is the other major player of recent years.

I already know of these things bout Gerrard as my barber is a Everton fan and likes to show me these things regularly. I know bout Owen also. As for Gerrard he says openly he was on the fence till he joined the accademy. I believe he from a family of half being red and half being blue.
Plus wearing the kit of another team at that age means nothing. I wore a Man utd kit when I was young as it was the only football shirt around my house.

fireireanach: i think at the age of 14,15 and 16 most people have chosen their team for life.

i know i chose my team at the age of about 8 and stuck with them all my life. and this is in a family with out any Reds or Blues in them

Commendable. I been a pool fan since i can remember. Gerrard entered Liverpool at 8.

Look this debate is not important. I have never had anything against everton. How do you think you will do this year?

I this we will finish in about 6th or 7th.

As long as we don't allow the European campaign to distract us from the important things. We have had a reasonably good start to the season and i don't think there is any chance of us going down this season but we need to be careful not to become complacent
