Interesting he came out with all this after his clause expired is it not? And what was the point of this clause if no-one was to be privy to it? And who leaked it? Good luck to him and I hope he bangs a few in for us but how gullible exactly does he think we are? It's just getting embarrassing now.

Owen fully fit only fitfully.

We'll never know if he is what he once was.

newcastle are lucky to still have Owen everyone knew about his clause before it expired, clubs were interested and he kept silent. Whether he stayed or not was likely to be his choice as the club had no say, yet he stayed put. I wouldn't have blamed him for leaving for United but he didn't. Should count your blessings Toon Army.

What was the point of a release clause if it was top secret?
Wasn't it Shepherd who made it public?
In any event, as far as I'm aware, no-one put in a firm bid for him.
I think he has to prove his fitness, be free from injury and start scoring before any club shows any interest in him.

The only reasons he is still at Newcastle are that none of the Big 4 are interested, and none of the rest are willing to pay him the silly money he is on. I feel sorry for the punters at Newcastle because Owen has used their Club as his own personal shop window. Unfortunately for him & them no one is buying.

Just as easy as people are saying he would have gone if a big club had come in for him you can also say he has also been loyal to Newcastle and wants to pay back some of the faith that was shown in him. At the end of the day nobody knows. However one thing for certain is on his day he can be one of the best strikers in Europe and personally I think he has still got it and can recapture his form, he is not Robbie Fowler. He is a class act and I was gutted to see him leave Real Madrid. Plus is the only English Striker I have any faith in as he has always rose to the big occasions, who can forget his two goals against Arsenal in the FA Cup final a few years ago. If he can keep his fitness he will prove his worth to the Newcastle cause this year, no problem, you should be counting your blessings he is still there.

i was once of th opinionowen should go due to his release clause, however, he has come to toon when we had souness and werent in a great place as a club...he had just left the galacticos. I cant forgive himfully for his unloyal clause but i can understand, cos ne1 joining a club run by souness wud be hesitant. However, he always stated he wanted to play for toon and always keptquiet when media pushed stories....he has stated he is commited to the club and all he has to do now is prove it.
