It's debateable wether or not the Premiership or La liga is the better league, it can has and will continue to be dabted and will continue to change, but to say that the premiership is not a big league is just foolish.

What I do find confusing is the fact that all the celts seem to be taking this Petrov thing a little personally. I happen to be half scottish and also a celtic fan, I know exactly how good he is, but none of this is the point. He's not performing and he needs to be dropped if only for a while to give him a kick up the a*se.
Only a minority of fools said Henky would never cut it in the Prem because the man is clearly a god amongst men, and Maloney, as I said, clearly has the class required to be a success.

Look there is no point arguing with the Celts on this. He was very good for them. Well done - good for them.
I don't give 2 hoots whether LaLiga or Premier League is top league though my opinion is the former due to more depth and netiher (as can be currently seen) has any direct influence on performance of national teams.
The point is Petrov has been cr_p for Villa. he is the biggest liability since Collymore. We have let Davis and McCann go to accomadate him and he still not quick enough (in the head) for the English top league after a season.
Today I was sitting in the soon to be renamed to Ron Saunders stand (I hope) and all the whingebag did was moan at Gardner (a 20 year midfielder playing at right back. What a great role model Stilian is. He thought Gardner was not taking up correct position whilst failing to understand that he was out of position due to Petrov's laziness and was in effect marking 2 players. We played the first half with 10 players.
Funny we reverted to 11 a side at the start of 2nd half and done much better.
It is about time Petrov does some hard labour in the reserves - he has show less than Maloney, Gardner and Ozzy in the last year so drop him down.
Finally one for the Celts - Larson is and was a top quality player and man who would grace any football pitch in any era.

Seems strange to me that Celtic fans still come on here to have their say on Petrov. Guys....... a couple of things.
1) Petrov left you nearly a year ago so get over it. You are obviously syill reeling from the disappointment of losing one of your best players.
2) I know the SPL is boring but have you relly got nothing exciting to say on the Celtic page. You won 5-0 today for heavens sake!

Go on your own site and talk about your own tin pot league.

Thats not much of an argument for Petrovs poor form. If it was, then Maloney would be dire as well.

Truth is Petrov just hasnt settled, end off.

Although I am bulgarian, I must say Petrov is under-performing... either he's a bit lazy or just getting old. he was good at Celtic (sometimes) but it's all relative, and now he plays in a stronger environment... I hope this change puts him in doubt and motivates him to work on his physical condition...

For all you Celtic fans that have come into this debate, if you wasn't at the game yesterday then please don't discuss how good Petrov is or was at your club. The fact of the matter is that he knew Villa were not a Champions League Club when he signed for the club and if he really wanted Champs League Football, he should have stayed North of the Border in the comfort zone. Not only yesterday, but all season he has looked FULLY committed in standing on the pitch only. His performance against Fulham (relegation blatters on a regular basis) was not worth the toilet roll I use to clean my bottom everyday and the performance showed in the second half once he was substituted. First Half, Villa were playing with 10 men because of this.

I have no doubt that the guy has potential but for me at present, he is a liability rather than the asset we all expected him to be.

we have got over losing petrov you morons we now have brown and donati who look solid, i just feel petrov can do it in the prem and what about his debut at west ham he wasn't that bad that game and as for out best player, then they were naka and boruc.

Is Stilian Petrov really all that good? He should have shown something by now. At £6 million he has been a disappointment to put it mildly.He only scored his first goal of last season in December. I would have expected more from him but I cant say i'm surprised.

its probably because,as you know ,Celtic would only be a Uefa cup team at best if they played in the Prem.
