i played with ray from the age of 9 years old up until he signed for qpr. From the age of 9 he always showed his potential and all us boys and parent knew he had a big future in the game. Rays always been soo polite and charming to both the boys he played with and parents, no matter the outcome of the games and how angry or happy he was he'd still have the respect and politeness to talk to parents or any one who watched after games. the big thing about ray that i loved was when he went to qpr he never forgot his routes. It would of been easy for him to forget us lads who played with him and was gd friends of his but he chose to not do that, he was a very down to earth boy and desrerved every sucess in the game. The only thing i regret is not being able to say to ray or having the opportunity to say to ray how proud we all were of him and how we was all routing for him to have every sucess in the game, i just wish i would of been able to make ray aware of this.

Speedy, I am very touched by your comments mate. I'm going to post your comments on the tribute to Ray on a website I go on. It's a Sunderland site but we're all in this together. I won't post the link to his tribute from Sunderland fans because it's not appropriate and may look like advertising.

God Bless.

i know its quite some time after the event, but i have only just noticed speedy's comment.

i would like to give my consolances to speedy, as everyone in football was shocked and upset by his young death.

but it is hardest most of all on those who he has touched during his life. for him, he is in a better place - but it is his friends, family, teammates and those kind of people who really suffer in that kind of circumstance.

i only wish i had seen your comments sooner as now it would appear like i am jumping on the band wagon...but my sincerest best wishes go to you speedy, even this long after the event.

as a brentford fan i heard of his potential for our nearest and dearest rivals and so i was very shocked & upset when i heard.

once again R.I.P Ray, and god bless you.
