to be honest he didn't really have the chance to prove himself but in the summer he did and he scored goals so yes he proved useless when he played but he didn't play enough games to give him chance off surviving the premiership

a huge waste of money and a panic buy by roeder, but he was a good finisher as demonstrated by his volley in shearers testimonial. i thort he had found his form in pre season, but it seems the best decision to let him go. he was just a bit to slow for the premiership

Another player who GR paid well over the odds for as we know.
It does irk me to see players leaving who we paid over the odds for and never really contributed to the toon cause.

I DONT THINK THAT hE IS OVER RATED PLAYER, IS JUST THAT bIG SAM DOSE NOT KNOW HIS PLAYERS YET. cANT YOU SEE HOW POOR HE IS WHEN IT COMES TO SELECTING WHO WILL PATNER STRIKERS. aS A MANAGER I THINK FIRST THING TO DO IN A CLUB, IS TO KNOW YOUR HIT MEN. SOMETIMES BIG SAME PATNER mARTIN AND VIDUKA OR OWEN. I WONDER WHY HE HAS NOT TRY TO PATNER AMOBI WITH OWEN , OBA OR VIDUKA. tHATS WHY I LOVE ABOUT POMPEY BOSS AND CHEAL_Y BOSS...THEY ARE TRING DIFFERENT OPTIONS AND KNOW WHICH ONE WORKS FOR THEM THE MOST. pOMPEY BOSS ROTATE UTAKA AND bENJ. well it's a pety really . his career at Newcastle had just resurected and we were starting to see the real quality side of Abert Luque, but I suppose it's no big loss to the club, we have better strikers like Owen, Martins, Smith... . besides didn't Luque used to play on the left wing in his time a Deportivo?

Never looked interested. Even in the pre-season when people were saying he looked ok I thought he was poor. No pace, didn't like the physical side of the game (yet was a big bloke). Another in a long, long, long (get my point?) line of Souness duds
