But in a way their run reminds me of Wales' narrow miss at qualification for EURO2004. Wales were in a great position but lost 3 of their last 4 games, meaning a play off and eventual elimination. I hope NI win the next two against Latvia and Iceland and this puts them in a safe position. Then winning or losing in Spain may not be important. Good luck!!

mikeys11 (U9485219) posted Aug 24, 2007 It is interesting that Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland all have a realistic chance of qualifying. The Repulic have great form at the moment, and the chances of getting second spot behind Germany in the group are good. Scotland have already beaten France and their qualification could come down to beating Italy at home. And NI look fantastic at the moment. Could we possibly see a tournament with Scotland, NI, Ireland and England?? That would be awesome!!
