HEINZE SOLD to our MAJOR RIVALS - WHY WHY!?

Premiership Manchester United

I don't understand what the board/SAF is thinking. There's a link on the BBC saying that we've just sold Gabby Heinze to Real Madrid - someone tell me this isn't true, it's BBC though so I'm thinking it is.

It's less than 2 years ago that I voted for him as our Player Of The Season. I've spent numerous games last season chanting proudly "Argentina! Argentina! Argentina!"... And now we've gone let him go, with £8million spread in payments over 3 years, but way way more importantly, to one of out MAJOR RIVALS!!!

WTF!

Why have we done this, the Champions League has got to be one of our top priorities this season and we've sold Gabby to Madrid, surely something has gone badly wrong here.

It wasn't Man U's choice. He was one of my favourite players too but Heinze wanted to leave. That just left where to. SAF had every right to stop him going to Liverpool and thank god as he's still a quality player. Chances are we're not even going to meet Real this year and we got alot more money for him so good business I say.

Lickle Keckle

How dumb are you mate? Any sport you watch a team or player that won the previous year would like to defend their crown. If Man.utd won Champions League in 99 and then came 4th and didnt get into the Champ league to defend their crown then you my friend and alot more Utd fans would have had kittens. The fact that Liverpool deserved to be in the compitition was further stamped with authority when the FA changed the rules and let them in as it was the right thing to do. Please before making stupid comments try to look further than that bloody nose of yours!!

Good player who just wanted a change. Not allowing him to go to Liverpool is a bit childish , sorry. If the shoe was on the other foot , there wouldnt be all that fuss.

Sad thing is Heinze has only gone to Real as it was his 2nd choice.

Very uncharachteristaclly classless from United.

If the Sol Campbell move was reversed a few years back do you think you'd be singing the same tune. Weren't you one of those Gooners that went nuts when Graham went to manage Spurs.

Any genius who believes that sending him to Liverpool rather than Real Madrid needs to take a long hard look at the situation they are in, i.e. they shouldn't be wearing a man utd shirt and should consider moving to Merseyside.

we offered the release clause in his contract so surely they cnt reject it and he wnted to come to us but man u know we wud be a threat if we strengthened our defence ever more even though it is already the best in the premiership!!!

Yet another example of childish bickering in football. Why is it that most sports can maintain a vaguely professional demeanor but football apparently cannot? Managers bitch and whine, issue personal attacks and make endless excuses. Some of them really need to grow up.
