Whats going on with Rob Jones?

Scottish Premier Hibernian
comment on the article

Just read this morning that Rob Jones is unsettled at Hibs and allegedly looking for a move away, with Leeds credited with an interest.

Apparently, according to his agent, he was supposed to have been promised talks after his first season about a better deal if he had performed well.

This is hearsay, obviously, however is a little worrying as he is club captain and surely this is not the sort of noises you expect to hear coming from someone in this position! (Although as Hibees we should be used to it after our last captain, KT, did the same!)

This coupled with losing Killen, supposedly because we didn't offer a long enough deal, makes me think that despite what has been in, my opinion, a great summer in terms of transfers, fees recouped etc, we're still not doing enough.

In light of the debt we have cleared off and the cureent state of our finances, is it time to review the wage structure, with a view to raising it for our 2-3 best players?

south stand casual: who is your team? and what exactly is your understanding of the situation? I don't beleive there is a contract on the table - he is on a deal and is complaing about it... that is my understanding anyway....

NaeheartsatHampden- Im leeds fella
sorry, i meant he is not happy without an improved deal on the table.

Hes rated by your fans, and he must be to be made captain.

As he is a Grimsby lad it wont be far for him to come to Leeds.

Riordan wants out already, i rate him.

Good luck to the Hibees ths season, and Aberdeen, scottish team since heady european days in the 80's, and lived in the Highlands at the time

i don't think so mate - pre-seasons they may have been - but Jones was in the Hibs team that beat both Middlesborough and Bolton last month, so poor from what point of view - if this is true i think it says more about Jones lack of ambition to be honest.

Besides where are Leeds getting £400k from - thought they were Rooked with a capital R?

Cheers mate, you have a good season.

Gary Mac was a legend for us, until he got greedy and moved to Coventry to win trophies?????

Feel for you Hibees cos they all seem to go the same way & want to be elsewhere. The only surprise here is that his `boyhood heroes` aren`t one of the twisted sisters just like the rest confess to be.... beware, the window is still open???

All the best for the season! ok

laughlaughfirst things first, trust me jones is going no were.secondly we should not change the wage set up.we never changed it for better players than jones so why now?doh.the good work put in by john collins(MANAGER) over the summer now means hibs will only sell if >>> they can improve the team by replacing the player, are offered double the players value or they dont need the player.the players who have now left easter road have been replaced.hibs have had a great start to the season and as i have said time and time again,we are stronger than ever on and off the park.our MANAGER (a real one) has done a fantastic job for the fans, the club and rod petrie.do you realy think he or petrie would destroy all that good work by selling jones without replacing him firstlaugh.as for the wage structure. we have a very young squad if the bulk of that squad stay together for 2-3 years fair doos the matter should be addressed, but lets get a run of tropheys first then pay the bucksale

To think Hibs arent going to sell is naive, Any player brought in pre season that has a great season will be gone if the price is right.

Wage structure yer its good that they have stuck to thier guns, Ive heard alot of rumours that its already been broken for a few players some of whom have moved on since.

Rob Jones is comical, A captain who came out public after the fiasco against JC and now his agent publicly says our captains unhappy, we to go ya couple oh greedy tools.

Couldnt care less if he goes if he doesnt wanna be here then shunt him back south to the awesome power of Leeds who are lucky to still be playing any type of football (no offence leeds fans.) Shows Jones ambition right there IF whats said is true.

Also those young players mentioned earlier again will be gone because of the wage structure its great having an academy but its pointless when its just to feed the old firm when they use the rest of teh clubs like Aldi's
just cause they can when they feel like it then whine theres no competition, wonder why eh?

/rant off
