Bring back Sehwag!

International Tests India, South Africa

comment on the article

The loss today is a clear indication that we need Sehwag back in the lineup as an opener. His explosive run chase may have earned us a victory today.

"This was an article I published long time ago. How true it is with his stellar performance against SA and I hope he has the chance to break the highest score set by Lara. Way to go Sehwag!"

The main problem seems to be inconsistency.

The bowlers are not exploiting the conditions well enough but actually, when you have five or six players averaging over 40 in your side you would expect to get a great score for the bowlers to attack - with the field up and at 'em.

In the last match 5 batsmen scored 219 runs off 587 balls; 5 bowlers scored 210 off 441 balls. Pietersen only occupied the crease for 5 balls in the crucial second innings!

I read that West Indian captain Gayle is unhappy with the selection of the team, but i think he should be concentrating on his mediocre batting average from 72 tests before engaging in another senseless fight with the selectors.

6 catches Mr Prior; has any other Enlish weecketkeeper taken those many catches in one game?

Prior-wise, absolutely, up and at 'em Matty and make the test spot yours this winter. Foster should go as number 2 to come in if he shells a few sitters. Read's days are numbered, much to my regret as he's a seriously entertaining player, a bit quirky in the Taylor/Knott manner.
He caught 6 and should now have some serious confidence, rumour has it his keeping has improved considerably since being dropped by England.

Prior had an excellent game with one particularly fine catch but he should never have gone for that one as it would have been an easy slip catch for Shah.

Just heard the sad news about Bill Frindall - just can't imagine TMS without Bearders. What a real shame.

That has really got to me and I am sure the TMS team will miss him greatly.

RIP Bearders and wake up Johnners when you see him! : )

Are the ECB "The Custodians of English Cricket"? ....I feel like screaming whenever I hear that oft repeated expression. Many many people who are not well off, including many old and unemployed people cannot afford to watch our national game (International Test Cricket) on Television, because the ECB, with the approval of the Government have sold the game off, (and..we cant afford to.. and neither do we wish to...sit in a pub all day).
There are not even any highlights any more!
Custodians for whom I ask you? Well the game should be for the people and it patently is not. I say shame on you ECB and Politicians alike......This is a national disgrace! Do you think that the Froggies have sold off La Tour. Absolument pas!!

Can someone please direct me to the rules for this 20/20 tournament. I don't understand why the league placings do not dictate the make up of the Super 8 leagues. Watching matches when the result means absolutely nothing seems a bit pointless. We could end up with all group winners in the same Super 8 group. Madness!
